  1. Nothing is worse than a know it all because really they dont know it all. You sound like you have seen a wide range of things, I wouldn't discount anything you had to say. I am sure if It got right down to it you would have broader range of things to bring to the table. Dont let anyone put you down. You dont know who has the hardest job or anything unless you yourself have been in that career. Good luck and keep your chin up!:roll :roll
  2. omg i am laughing right now. everything you said in that first paragraph is soooo true. i have heard many fellow students say the same thing. i keep my mouth shut, you never know one day you might be working with that person and you may need their help with something.besides i am not the judging type. maybe i can shed some light on the situation since i am still in school. they drill certian things in your head and scare you so much that when you see a nurse do something that you were taught not to do, it freaks you out. a student still should not make any comments on anything another nurse does or doesn't do. i have worked in a couple of different places and each one has a different way of doing things. so to my fellow students----- do not judge other people and dont sweat the small stuff ex: recapping a needle. thats just silly!
  3. Hi, I have been a massage therapist for 10 years. I am in my second semester of nursing school. I love the fact that I am a LMT because I can incorporate a little massage therapy with nursing. Not full body of course but hands and feet. It also depends on the patients condition, in some cases it is contraindicated. The patients love the extra attention and they are less likely to get mad at you when you have to give them a shot:) .
  4. well put! it is a small part of the job and no one likes doing it but put yourself in the patients place. i'm sure if they could do it themselves they would. if it bugs you that much choose a different profession.

Thanks! It was difficult but sooo worth it. Seriously there were times I thought I would pull my hair out. You will make alot of really good, lifelong friends. We would go from laughing to crying to feeling like we just could not make it. It just takes some getting used to the format. It isn't like any other test I have ever taken. I am excited about the next semester. They told us in orientation that at least half of the starting class would flunk out or drop out because it was so hard. They were right. I just kept telling myself that I wasn't going to be one of them. I am excited for you. You will love it.Let me know if you have any questions that I can help with. This is a great web site. Some of the people in here are really positive and will give you good advise. Keep me posted on how things are going with you. Take care. kiki2
