I will be in the Family Psych track.

I would have to agree that just reading chapters and taking a test every two weeks doesn't work for me. The online factor doesn't bother me but for classes like advanced assessment and pathophys, I am not sure that this works....at least for me. I am reevaluating as well......

Hey all, I was the one who started this discussion a while back. I was accepted to the psych DNP for Spring of 2011 but decided to attend somewhere else that offered cheaper tuition. I am thinking of asking for my spot back at Brandman for spring 2012 because I truly believe that is where I should be. I love cutting edge and innovation and Brandman definitely is both. Can anyone shed some light on how classes have gone for you thus far? I am hoping it is more than power points that you read or listen to.

To anyone that has started this program: I am a bit worried that psychopharmacology, genetics, nor biostatistics are not offered as part of the program. I want to make sure I am getting what I need to become a great FPMHNP. What are your thoughts? Is it covered in other courses?

Has anyone thought about applying to any of the Brandman University DNP programs? It's an adult education university with a really innovative schedule to get you out of school in 2-3 yrs.

I take it that it was an acceptance letter?

I'm already thinking about the capstone project. For those of you that are already students, what aspects of psych do you plan to focus on?

I was accepted to the DNP program and recieved a letter today in the mail. It's been a long wait as I completed my application sometime in July. Good luck everyone and thanks for the well wishes! I think I am goin gto take a vacation soon because I won't be coming up for air for about 4 years.

I just recieved my acceptance letter today! I will be in the Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program. I'm trying not to combust with excitement right now.

What do I have to do to become a self-employed RN? Did you have to get a business license and/or go through a regulatory office for other licensing? Where do you get supplies from to take care of the patient? I know malpractice insurance is necessary but what else? I am interested in providing private postpartum/newborn home visits...my target market would be affluent moms who can pay up front. i don't want the medicare/medicaid drama. I want to wake up each morning the way you do James!
