Question about post interview thank you
I had a panel interview yesterday for a new grad position and I had planned on sending thank you letters in the mail today to all interviewers. However, at the end of the interview they said I should hear something by tomorrow so I a really can't mail it out. I was either going to drop them off in person or email them. I'm not sure how I would drop them off because I don't really know where all of their offices are etc. I guess my main questions is an email considered OK now? I have never sent thank yous for jobs by email. Any suggestions? Thanks

Why are Florida RNs paid so low?
We do have a sales tax in Florida. State income tax no, but sales yes. It is really hard to compare NYC with the entire state of FL. Florida has many different places to live with cost of living varying quite a bit. I am in south Florida and I would say that wage/cost of living is really not balanced.

Best of luck to you all. I just finished the program in May, so I was sitting in your spot two years ago.

just got home from nclex in morgantown
I know the feeling, took the test on Wed and ended up with around 110 questions; I felt really crappy on the way out and it was a long drive home for me. I did the PV trick at a friends house, who had just passed the NCLEX himself, and I got the good pop up. Even though the PV trick works 100% of the time there is still something in the back of your mind until you see a license. Well when I woke this morning I saw my name on the FL BON website; it was definitely a relief. Good luck to you, hopefully your BON is as quick as mine was.

i thought it was more challenging than pre req's, but more because it was a lot different. i took pharm over the summer so i didn't have that extra work added on top of everything else. i found time to spend with my daughter and made sure to take some time for myself. the pda was awesome once i got used to it. i got a few of the required books on pda and used it quite a bit in clinical. i have a palm tx and got the skyscape constellation plus. i also added the diagnoses book. i don't recall a lot of people with pda's so it's definitely not required, but i found it was very helpful.

I went to Lake Worth Campus. First semester was about what I expected. It starts off pretty hectic, but slows down a little bit after clinicals get going. Books that I didn't use this semester but may use in second were: The Essentials of Nursing Care, Planning and Documentation--Didn't use this at all. Fluid & Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy--you touch on fluids and electrolytes, but just introductory and I found the lecture textbook had all the information I needed. I think it will be usefull in second. Nutrition book--didn't buy one or need it. There are two nursing diagnosis books: Mosby’s Guide to Nursing Diagnosis and The Nursing Diagnosis Handbook They are pretty much the same, but the blue one (nursing diagnosis handbook i think) has the rationales, and is the only one I used. I have it on PDA. The other book is yellow and I did not use it at all. The yellow one is smaller and one of the teachers said you could bring it to clinicals or something, but I didn't really do any care plan stuff during clinicals first semester.
