  1. i am from minnesota
  2. I also went to excelsior college i was in mn at the time and transfered my lic to az i had no problem.
  3. Ever since I went to nursing school in 1987-88 school year for LPN that is all i have heard is to go back to school get your RN, so on, I went back to school got my RN been out a year now im hearing it again Get your bsn when will it stop. I have lost many jobs because of this issue have recently gone back into acute care only because I was in School. when i fishished i didnt have a job because i wasnt a bsn. well i moved my family across the country for this wonderful hospital job that was going to be so much better. BS NOW A year later im moving my family across country again becase of big layoffs and revamping the system. if i have to go back to school again it wont be for nursing ever again. i do love the proffession , why not make everyone sitting on welfare go back to school or no check.
  4. I have never given phenergan IV before coming to the state of tx. it is diluted with 10 ml of NS and given slowly. in some hospitals like said before p.o. or i.m or not at all.
  5. hello everyone, im moving to the phoenix area right after thanksgiving. i will be at the county hospital in ther ER. I want to learn everything i can . i have worked a small hospital er before. we are moving to the avondale area.
  6. I have had several cna burn my butt to many times now at the start of the shift i tell the cna iw ill do my own vitals ,finger sticks and empty my own foleys that way i know its getting done and done right.
  7. where I work the LPN's have been told to go back to school or find another job. there is rumor that the adn RN will have to get there BSN to. well i went back to school got my adn took a 7 dollor cut in pay from lpn to RN now that was worth all the money i paid to go back to school and to go back again how much more money will i lose for spending a large amt to get that BSN. I am moving on to another hospital.. all the years i was a LPN all i heard about was the safty factor of being a LPN, well now you say its safty because i dont have a BSN. SAFTY IS EVERYONS RESPONSIBILITY to there patients.
  8. I am as well considering a move to oregon i have interviewed at a hospital in medford. I thought it all went well but as they say it can take up to 3 months to get my lic there. the weather is not as extreme as in minnesota as to where i am from. its way to hot in texas. any suggestions on to where to live in medord?
  9. hello everyone i am new to this site as well, i am from mn but live in tx. i got my rn last year last 20 years i was a lpn working in a small rual hospital, i am viewed here ina larger city as no nursing experience because i worked in such a small hospital, well iw ould take that rual hospital anyday over the larger ones. i just feel iwas a better nurse in a rural hospital than i am here in this large one,,
  10. hello everyone, I also took the pbds at my current job. that is what we were all told its a assisment tool , forget it its not. its a pass fail deal, i did pass it the first time was told that i failed it i had to sit through 10 weeks of training to retest. there is no way anyone can pass this without some kind of avdance study i felt it was a set up for failure.
