  1. I'm not sure what the requirements are anymore. I graduated and things were changing while I was in school. I took the local ACT through Wharton. I started immunizations as soon as I got accepted. CPR through Wharton.
  2. My instructor hinted that I should do equilibrium as need for because my pt has septic shock, infection, and a UTI. This is the first time I have had to write a care plan for equilibrium and I am having a hard time linking this info to a diagnoses. If someone could please guide me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I have the Ackley book but it doesn't give me a diagnoses that I can come up with. Thanks
  3. Oh my goodness. I almost lost my coke through my nose laughing about the cop kicking the leg into traffic!!!!!!!!!!:roll :roll
  4. He had been in the hospital since Monday. He doesn't appear to be to sick. I talked and joked with him today. I did a physical assessment today and he did not complain. The only way I know he is sick is because his abd is tender and he has pain that comes and goes.
  5. I have a 63yr male who is going into gallbladder surgery today. My instructor wants a care plan done for tomorrow on postop. I am not sure how to proceed because he hasn't had the surgery yet. These are the diagnosis I have come up with: Impaired skin integrity Acute pain Risk for infection Do I write these as risk for since the surgery has not been done yet. Are there better diagnosis that I should be thinking of? The other problem I have is not knowing which of the 2 gallbladder surgeries he will have. It was not specified before I left. Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!! Thanks
  6. The courses are difficult, yes but not impossible if you study. We were told at orientation to not expect to be A students. Most nursing students averages are C's. I took this really hard in the beginning but have come to terms with that fact. Mostly everyone has B's right now. I go into every test wanting an A but tell myself I will be okay with a C. I usually come out with a B. It takes alot of stress off if you don't expect to make that A.
  7. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!! That explains why I could not find it. I thought I was going crazy or just having a brain fart!!!!!:selfbonk: Thanks again!!!!!!
  8. Should have mentioned before that I have checked my pharm book, fundamentals book, dictionary, drug ref guide, and even googled it. Iron with fevite attached to it does not come up. Thanks for the thought.:thankya:
  9. I am currently going to WCJC. It is very time consuming. I have an 8 yr old and I feel like I don't get to spend alot of time with him. I just keep thinking about how good the future will look for us when I am done and that is what keeps me going. I have a lot of mothers in my class and we all just get through the best we can. :lol_hitti
  10. I am trying to find info. on Iron (fevite). Is this the supplement and just known as something else? Please help I need info. such as onset/peak, common side effects, safe dosage range etc..... Thanks:confused:
  11. Thas is so nasty!!!!!!!!! About lost my lunch on that one.:barf01:
  12. Wharton County Junior College has a great RN program also. I live in Sugar Land and it takes me about 30 mins to get to Wharton. The good thing about the drive is it is opposite rush hour traffic. Pretty much smooth sailing to school.
  13. I just got into the adn program at WCJC. They look at your overall science classes gpa and how many non-nursing classes you have completed. Only 30 slots per cycle.
