JUne 06 : Retake All?
Yup Lawrence, I am aware of their letter to PRC, that's why I personally emailed ANA and asked if theyr were retracting their statement since our batch is only required to retake tests 3 & 5, it's up to us if we retake all -- but I think that ANA is really firm in their stand and they could not be swayed. So the ONLY thing to do is retake ALL. I agree with you, I was surprised that ANA answered immediately, unlike BON, PRC & PNA. These organizations/offices whould be the ones looking out for us - but what is happening now? They just abandoned us.... I hope my fellow nurses also see this...

Thanks for the reply Aquarian!!! By the way, I posted the email that I received from ANA inquiring about their stand, it can be found in the other threads about retaking ALL. I guess they are really firm in their stand, so I finally decided to waive my license today - especially to put any worries in the future. I hope that everything works out for the best. Thanks for this thread, for all of your support. God bless!!!

American Nurses Association Urges New Tests for Philippine Nurses
Being included in the June 06 batch, it was really hard to decide to retake all but I guess, that the only right thing to do, so I waived my license today. I would also like to share an email with you guys. Being confused of between the statements of CGFNS & ANA, I decided to email ANA regarding their statement, asking them if they have the same statement as CGFNS. This is their reply to my email: Thank you for contacting the American Nurses Association (ANA) about its recent announcement on the compromised June 2006 Philippine Nurse Exam. As noted in our letter to the Philippine Regulation Commission, ANA considers this to be a matter of public health and safety. Absolute integrity of the professional licensure and exam process must be strictly maintained for purposes of public safety and confidence. ANA also noted in the letter that it is clear that the United States has benefited from the many excellent Philippine nurses who have come here to practice. ANA recognizes that these nurses are duly licensed and able to practice within the Philippines. Our interests lie with those who wish to come to the United States to practice nursing. ANA understands that investigations into this matter have found that Tests #3 and #5 were substantially compromised. However, there was nothing that was made public that indicates that these were the only two tests of the exam that were compromised - only that these were the most compromised. It is for this reason that the ANA Board of Directors recommended that the entire exam be retaken. ANA is aware that the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) has agreed that retaking Tests #3 and #5 is sufficient to meet their requirements for a VisaScreen Certificate. Each organization's position stems from a different perspective. CGFNS is a regulatory authority. ANA's position stems from our role as the professional association and the custodian of the U.S. Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements. Provision 3.4 states that: Nursing is responsible and accountable for assuring that only those individuals who have demonstrated the knowledge, skill, practice experiences, commitment, and integrity essential to professional practice are allowed to enter into and continue to practice within the profession. Given The Code, ANA's perspective is that when entrusted with caring for the public, there can be no doubt as to the qualifications of the nurse. ANA recognizes the CGFNS' position that successful retake of Tests #3 and #5 is an acceptable remedy to meet the needs of a VisaScreen Certificate. Again, thank you for contacting the ANA. Please do not hesitate to contact Cheryl Peterson, [email protected], should you have any further questions. JUne 06 : Retake All?
Yesterday, I was contemplating on retaking ALL, but today, I finally went to PRC and waived my license. I was really confused last night about what to do that I emailed ANA asking them about their statement. It was great that they answered immediately, I got their email this morning, which I am going to share with you guys. I even brought a copy of this to PRC when I waived my license this afternoon and the people I asked there even photocopied the letter and suggested that I share the email to others who are in the same situation as I am. I hope that this could help those who are still confused. Here it is: Thank you for contacting the American Nurses Association (ANA) about its recent announcement on the compromised June 2006 Philippine Nurse Exam. JUne 06 : Retake All?
I really am confused right now. I don't know if i should retake the whole exam or just tests 3 & 5. I too already passed my nclex and ielts and if not for the controversy of the june 06 NLE, i would be processing my visa screen right now. I know that waiving my license and retaking the whole exam is the right thing to do and it is the only way that I would have real peace of mind. But still it really is not easy to just give up the license. Do you guys think that the issue regarding the compromised NLE exam will not be laid to rest after the retake of tests 3 & 5? Someone told me that ANA will abide with the retake of tests 3 & 5 conducted by the DOLE, but I would want to read a statement oming directly from them stating this. Especially since the only press release from ANA is that they are urging us to take a new and different exam which if I understood correctly means that we should retake ALL. I am so confused, please help me. I have to decide before april 2 which is the start of the registration for those who will retake tests 3 & 5. Thanks!

nclex last mar 1 '07 w/75Q - results in mar 2 '07 - PASSED!!!
i'm really so happy!!! this was really unexpected!!! i took my nclex exam last mar 1 '07 7am here at saipan, and on mar 2 '07 9:30pm (saipan time - around 7:30pm phils time) my classmate who was in the philippines texted me to congratulate me and my friend who also took her nclex exam. we were expecting to know the results on monday - not the next day after we took the exam!!! actually we are still here in saipan, our flight leaves at around 4pm. it was a good thing that i brought my laptop so we were able to check the website of the board of nursing and there it was!!! we were crying - tears of extreme joy!!! both of our computer stopped at 75 - we had around 6-7 select all that apply questions each, i had around 8 meds which i have never heard of before and even the question did not give any clue what it was for - i couldn't even remember the names now, i'll try so that i could share them with you. ) - lots of priority questions and questions w/ which response of the nurse is appropriate. goodluck to those who will be taking their nclex!!! thank you god!!! per the requirements that you agreed to abide by when you took the exam, you cannot post specifics like this. they have been removed to conform to the requirements of the board that created the exam. i have edited your post.
