What would you sugest I do. Im thinking about going from BSN to MSN, how many years esperience do you think I should get as an RN first. Also what do you think the average GPA is for entering the NP education?

Always treat the treats as real, Im not sure if your a nurse or other healthcare professional, if so you are required to make the call. I once had a problem myself about being suicidal, and was at the point where I did cuttings, and took meds. This was when I was 16. Now I look back and see how stupid I was. Thought I wanted to die but didnt, I just needed to talk to a professional. You never know when it will be real. So always treat it as it is. Your friend needs someone, dont make haste in leaving the relationship if you feel that you are not in danger.

Ive actually had both done, it depends on the test. Had a voiding cystogram and was cathed and filled, had an ultra sound and had to drink before test. if its in the ER we usually give IV or cath in this situation for NPO

In the past year as a nursing student I got to know several nurses and other nursing students. During that same year I found myself in the ER many times due to several severe illness. Once my friend from highschool cathed me, first she asked me if it would be ok or if I wanted another nurse, I said that I practically knew everyone here so she just as well be the one. One of my felllow nursing students tried to draw blood and couldnt get a vein for the life of him. Working with those you know can be more anxiety on the nurse but hey remeber you may have that situation that you have to do it

I use to be part of the 08 class but had to drop out after the first semester due to surgery. Expect the unexpected. If a teacher says it wont be on the exam study it anyway because I guess they tend to forget. Dont let pharmacology get you down. When they say come in to practice clinicals, then come in and practice. Dont fall behind on ready, there is alot of material so pace yourself. Get chummy with the professors, you will need good references in the future, and dont be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Good luck.

Hey dreamy Im in the same vote as you, it seems that we should pick something that we are interested in, and have a passion for everyone on the other forums say. But this doesnt really help choose that topic does it, I have several topics actually for myself but I dont really know how to formulate that thesis statement around the specific topic

I agree with Dorito, you should call the administrator, some NICUs have specific dress codes, due to case sensitivity of the babies.

Im only a nurse in training, however I did have a surgical procedure in which parts of my perineal area was shaved. Yes I did feel uncomfortable about this being done. Yes I think I would attempt to shave a pts perineal, face, legs etc. Because it was so uncomfortable for me I usually know the pt really wants if done for comfort measures. As nurses I believe we are obligated to comply with our pts comfort needs. As one of the other posters said that its more invasive to insert a catheter, hey someone could get off on this procedure too, so whats the difference.

Can we be considerd a vector. When carring for one patient then going to the next are we at risk for spreading a disease? Im interested in do a research thesis on this area including nosocomial infections and such. But Im new to my nursing studies and dont know what questions that I would need to address and how to approach this idea. Can anyone help?:paw:
