  1. Great answer FROGGYLEGS! Also, never aspirate heparin and Don't rub the site. :angryfire Could be an allergy but from what u described it does not sound like you have done anything wrong.
  2. Yeah, ive been scared alright!!!!! When I was a third year Psych student we admitted a patient...........paranoid schitzo weighting 120 kgs and 6"3 tall. He had a black belt in Karate and gave a couple of the gaurds a good hiding the day before. :angryfire Well, needless to say I survived without incident. :rotfl:
  3. Well........I have no problem putting a catheter in a female. Generally if they need the damn thing now, they don't usually complain!!!! I would, obviously, give them the option of a female nurse, but most of them are comfortable with me. JUST ONE THING!!!!.......it's easier in men cos u can't miss :rotfl:
  4. Patients that tell me : "i'VE GOT MEDICAL AID, AND I WANT YOU TO DO........cos I'M PAYING YOUR SALARY!!!!!" My reply: "Even if you went to another hospital, I'd still get paid at the end of the month!"

Does anyone know the specific nursing care for a patient receiving Mabthera?
  7. Did you ever investigate how you got the infections, are the theaters that you were operated in not infected?
  8. Just want to know what your opinon of the current standards of overseas nurses are......especially those nurses from South Africa. How do they compare to the OZ & N.Z. nurses and how do they find nursing there? Does anyone know if they are better trained in those countries & if they have bigger scopes of practice on their counties?
  9. ONLY IN AMERICA!!!![/b Thank God I don't live there.....the stupidity there seems to be contagious!
  10. Don't worry, I sense hostility between the 2 of you, and he is saying that to piss u off..........I know he wont't make the grade, let alone work long unsociable hours!
  11. I thing that being a guy helps just a bit because we don't seem to take the crap. (i stand to be corrected) If a patient is rude I'll ask him: "is it necessary to be so rude?" in a way that is just a little judgemental. Then I'll tell them : " we treat you with dignity and respect, and i think that we desreve the same." That works most of the time, but you'll still get the idiot with the big ego, in that case tell him you'll come back when he has cooled off........because you can't work with rude people. Hope this helps, but working with people, you will always get the good side & the bad side of things, it will never change unless you stop the abuse. Whatever happened to assertiveness???????
  12. Sorry for the bad news, but everyting is important.........one system is dependant on the next so study everything.
