Iam attending Antelope valley college.The waiting list for the L.V.N Program I was told would be spring 2009!!!!!! I only have 1 class to take Biolology,so now what iam supposed to do for the next two years:angryfire I want to take my preq for the Rn program but hoping they will call me before then.Also anyone here graduate from the L.V.N program at A.V? I am thinking about concord but it's really expensive& my luck as soon as I get started they will call me.So my thing is,are they really serious or just their way to keep the non serious ones from applying.

so if RN's only make $15 and hour I am assumming that's the day shift.They how much does AVH pay for the LVN'S? I think that is just not enough money for the amount of work& skills that is required.Espically at AVH because I could just imagine the stress there being that is the only hospital out here.well we do have High Dessert,but you know what I mean.

I live in Plamdale and at the two and only major hospital we have here.A.V Hospital& High Dessert the pay is $15 an hour. The cost of living is not that cheap out here anymore like it use to be. My house value has trippled if not more in the last three years. It's till considered less than what they pay in the valley for housing,but the pay is not that great.A lot of people I know commute to Valencia or the valley for the higher pay.Good luck if you have any questions about the palmdale/Lancaster area pm me anytime.Just know the hospitals here are very overcrowded & it's hot.

:eek: Ok I can forgot about looking into this school.I hear Concord career Institute was $14,000 and I thought that was high.

I wonder why they do that? I know they have to pay the RN's more and with these hospitals out here where I live they need all the help they can get. This is why iam really considering being an R.N now or go another route in nursing.

I just read in the paper that there is a shortage in this field.I was thinking of doing the same thing being that it is going to take so long for me to get into the l.v.n program. But I was thinking you still needed to have the same type of nursing skills,I didn't know it was another type of training. If so and it's quicker and the money is about the same I may really look into it.As long as iam helping people and can be able to provide for my family iam fine.

I was looking into one but on the net it says only 68% pass so I quickly changed my mind on that school:lol2: .Thanks again TazziRN &TheCommuter. I live in Palmdale and it seems at my college I will not be able to get into the program until 2009:angryfire Any one on here going to A.V. College or has been through the program. I was thinking while iam waiting to go ahead and take my preq for thr R.N. program.But iam 35 and going back to school,needless to say I have no idea what to do now.I had no idea there was a waiting list,plus they said there is really no guarantee that I get in 2009.I need help please from anyone that has been through the same thing on what to do. I kind of in the dumps now after hearing that news,I was so excited finally taking the chance and going back to school now I have to wait to get into the program:uhoh3: .Well thanks for reading.I will post this on the main board also I think that's where most of the action is.
