  1. OK, so am I going to be chastised or what? I went to get the shoes I had picked out at the New Balance store today, only to find they were not available in the size I need (mens size 13 wide). These shoes would have been perfect, all white leather, but alas it was not to be. It would seem that there is very little in the way of all white leather for the size I am looking for, from any manufacturer:banghead: I have checked most on-line nursing shoe stores, only to find mostly women's or standard men's sizes (most only go to size 12 and none have wide) in their offerings. So I went with what is available, a set of New Balance white with light gray trim cross trainers, I included a pic. My question is will I be able to get away with these or I am in for a tongue lashing? Has anyone dealt with a similar issue and live to tell about it? I would hate to be singled out as so sort of rebel bent on disobedience, it's is just hard for a 6ft 300+ lbs guy to find the shoes they require. Any input would be appreciated, with thanks in advance and as always, Godspeed!! -Alex-
  2. Greetings all! Just wondering if anyone who had signed the paper giving out by St. Johns at the orientation had received a call from them yet? I took the "test" for employment they had online about 2 weeks ago and have not heard from them. Ok back to preparing for the nursing program:selfbonk:, see you later and Godspeed! Alex
  3. All of us 6's need to have shirts made up or something! Honestly, I also can't imagine getting by without working, gas alone is like another rent or mortgage payment every month. And from what they say it will only get worse! Here's to all those who plan and/or have to work while attending nursing school, may it harden you like steel in a fire!!! Until next time Godspeed!!! Alex
  4. Just a heads up, I went into the enrollment office yesterday and they were entering the rankings by hand into the computers as of that moment. I was able to get mine and was pleasantly surprised (was tied for 6th). So to all those that made it in, your ranking should be available now. Godspeed! Alex
  5. Greetings and salutations! Letter came, news was good, there was much rejoicing in the household! To comment on the micro question, I took it on it's own but knew of one person in my class who was taking it along with the "program". She dropped out a quarter of the way thru, read into that what you will. Also try to get The Hoff(man) if you can for micro, he was super! Godspeed to you all and see you in the Fall (or sometime after!). Alex
  6. Hello again all! I just thought I would wrap this thread up with the information I have received from MCC regarding HS transcripts. Per Nancy, an adviser in the admissions office, those whom have already succeeded in getting 12 or more college credits are not required to turn over HS transcripts for admission:lol2:. So with that I say thanks to all of you who cared to comment and Godspeed! Alex
  7. First off let me thank everyone that had something to offer and also I would like to answer some of the questions you posed. Yes, my pre-req's are complete and current (well except for A & P which I am taking winter semester). Also I have taken the HESI and plan on turning in my admission application after the holidays. Other than that my major concern was this whole HS transcripts thing. Have a great holiday and New Year!
  8. Greetings and salutations to all! Long time lurker, first time poster, so please forgive me if this question has been brought up before (I didn't see anything in my searches). I am apply for entrance into MCC 2008 nursing program and need some insight into the process. While reading the requirements for entry I noticed they require both high school and college transcripts. My question is: Having not attended high school for some 11 years now, do I still have my transcripts sent? And if so, can anyone give me a clue as to how long a request of this nature usually takes? Seeing as I only have to the Feb. 15th (which is my 30th B-Day I might add=-) I also wondered if MCC is the only college I have attended, do I need my transcript for MCC forwarded to the admissions office, or do they have the capability to procure that info without such action? I realize these questions would be best asked of a college official, unfortunately until the holidays conclude, I am left with these questions, lest any of you have some answers for me Hope to here from anyone, and thanks in advance for any input you may have. Alex
