Does anyone else see discrimination? Long Post but please read!
I'm really sorry to hear that that happened to you. I agree, I really think you should get a lawyer and file a complaint. Do whatever you have to do. I understand that this eliminates three hospitals for future jobs, but I am sure you wouldn't want to work in that particular hospital again, anyway. I know I wouldn't. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Clogs while nursing
Hey. Didn't mean to make it sound like I was a Croc Hater. It was just a question. Crocs don't work for me, my feet are long and skinny. It was just a casual observation.

Clogs while nursing
Hello everyone, This thread is inspired by the one "JCAHO and Clogs". This is something I've noticed alot lately-people in the medical field wearing crocs. I understand that they are wonderfully comfortable, but coming from an office environment where open toed shoes were frowned upon, I'm surprised that crocs would be allowed in that field, because of safety reasons, especially since there is an abundance of sharp objects and body fluids. Am I just too old fashioned?

What age were you when you went to nursing school?
Just starting at 35. Hopefully becoming an RN at 39, then CRNA at 45. After that, who knows....

Eight or Twelve Hour Shifts
While I have no experience right now, I will be starting 12s as a CNA in January. I am still going to school to become an RN, so I don't know how this is going to work. I was hoping to get 8s, but 12s is what I got. Hopefully, it won't be too painful.

Why are you REALLY going into nursing? Honest answers please.
At this time, you have 409 posts, and I just don't have time to read all of them, but I'll tell you mine... Actually, I always wanted to be a vet...but I never ended up going to school and have worked for as a secretary for the lat 12 years. A few years ago, my husband and I were in an accident, and while I was well taken care of in the emergency room then brought to my hospital room, my husband was actually left in the emergency room (after his x-rays) with the curtain closed and lights off. Although he was not my husband at the time, no one should ever ever ever be treated that way. He had a broken bone, not me. I vowed that no one should ever feel all alone like that again. And that's my mushy story.

An actual 1955 Good Housekeeping article
Actually, we've had that one posted up on the bulletin board at work for a couple of years. We find it hilarious. Well, I do, anyway. But then again I'm blonde (mostly) and love dumb blonde jokes.
