  1. You have no idea how much I needed this right now! I know exactly how you feel! I got fired Tuesday... on Nurse Appreciation Day for always being late on my notes. The last 2 jobs I've had were bc I got fired... Because I can't get my notes done! SMH! I do great when I have my medication, but Drs seem to not believe in adult adhd and I feel like they treat me like a druggie or something. Without my meds, I lose all confidence in what I'm doing and it can be something I've been doing for years! If someone is watching me... Then forget it!
  2. Thump it....just kidding!! I would not go in his room alone, always take a witness with you preferably a male and document...document....document!
  3. In my opinion, sounds to me like as that child grows up the parents are going to make it a nervous wreck. With this baby having a seizure disorder the parents are going to have get used to being strong and control themselves and letting the medical team that they came to for help in the first place care for the child. It is very hard taking care of a pt when the families are trying to control the situation and not let you do your job.
  4. WOW that was touching. Ya know....we are in such a rewarding carreer. At times I wish I chose a different path in life, but now that you knocked me upside the head with that I can't think of any other career that is as rewarding as nursing. That makes the hectic days, all the b#tch#ng from the other nurses about the other shifts and the other nurses that missed a stool guiac seem very minimal. Thank You!

  6. We just started having the oncoming nurse check the MARS and TARS. The only problem with that is that it is very time consuming and makes the oncoming nurse fall behind and the leaving nurse late getting out.
  7. Good ideas. I would like to totally overhaul the facility, but I think I'm the only one. State just exited, so there will definitely be some changes...thank goodness.
  8. I work the night shift and find time to audit charts and find orders not properly transcribed, meds not DC'd, lab not notified of orders and so on. I drastically want to improve the facility I work in. Anyway, does the QI nurse have to be an RN and what is the proper job discription of a QI nurse?
