St. Louis ICU
That's a big consideration. I think SLU Hosp. only pays the loans for new grads, which is unfortunate. I do still have some loans 3 years out of nursing school. Thanks for your input.

St. Louis ICU
Yes, that's true. I will have to look into the patient ratio. That's definitely important. I'm also thinking of St. Louis University Hospital because they have a trauma ICU. BJH just has so many credentials--it is impressive. Thanks for the heads up.

St. Louis ICU
Why is ICU better? I'm a little nervous because Barnes Jewish seems to have a bad med-surg rep. Anyway, how long does it take for your to get to St. Louis? Do you stay there in between? Thanks for your reply.

St. Louis ICU
Do you know if SSM has high acuity? I doubt that I could do the weekend option without previous ICU experience. I'm trying to get my foot in the door for ICU. I see that Barnes will pay back student loans if you are a new grad, but I have 3 years experience. Do you think they will help with SL for someone with 3 years exp? Thanks for the replies.

St. Louis ICU
I live in So. Illinois and am considering making the drive to St. Louis to do ICU nursing. What is the best hospital with the best pay? I also am looking for tuition loan repayment. Was looking at Barnes-Jewish because it seems they have a great reputation. Any thoughts? Thanks.

New OB Nurses, Grads and Students, Please Feel Free to post your questions here:
I was just hired for L&D and I start in 2 weeks. I am currently doing med/surg but haven't really liked it. I just recently graduated in March. I'm so nervous about L&D. I really loved my school rotation, but I just don't know what to expect in the "real world." I'm so anxious about this new adventure of mine. Any advice?

leaving after 6 months...feeling GUILTY! HELP!
Hello, I'm a new grad and have been working a night position for 6 months. I was just hired at another facility in L&D and will be working evenings instead of al night. Two problems: 1) I feel so guilty that I am leaving my current position after on ly 6 months. The floor is so understaffed and everyone is so nice. 2) I will be getting paid less and I'm nervous that I will change and then realize that L&D isn't what I thought it was. Also, I don't know how to going about giving my 2 weeks notice.:uhoh21:
