Texas Wesleyan University's program has definately been good for me and my family. I have no regrets or concerns about the program.

Wow, glad to hear it. I am originally from Richmond KY. Small world. No, I haven't heard anything from TWU yet. I understand a letter will be out in Feb. sometime. I am currently in Florence KY, working in Cincy, Looking forward to class. The commute from Lex isn't really all that bad. I can recommend some other accomidations for you up here if you are ever interested. Where in Lexington are you working?

I got a phone call from one of the coordinators. The other people I know that got in also got phone calls on Sat from coordinators. LoveHearts, R u in? If not, have you applied other places?

I got in at the Cincy site. My interview was at the beginning of Dec.

I feel your pain. I too was rejected by the first school I interviewed at. I put alot into the preparation for the interview including working at the facility the school is at, in the unit they prefer, for the past two years. I studied for the GRE in the program the college offerred. I had put so much into it, and wanted it so bad, that when the time came I thought I was a shoe in. I was nervous during the interview. They said that was normal. They mentioned my GPA, not so good during my ADN 12 yrs ago, and passed over the good stuff during my last 60 hrs for the BSN. We talked about my experiences a little; Paramedic, ER, ICU(CTVU, SICU, critical care float pool at a Level I trauma center), Flight Team. However, I got rejected. Man was I mad, shocked at first, then mad. Luckily I had time to cool down before the next interiew. I'm not kidding, like night and day the two interviews were. I had taken information from the first interview and applied it to the second. I knew areas I was weak in during the first interview and made it work for me the second time. That is my advice to you. Use that bad experience to your advantage. Shake it off, get over it the best you can, which can be difficult, and go to the next one a better applicant. Look at your first interview as a dress rehersal for the second one. I got in to the second and am very glad it didn't workout at the first program. Good luck on your next interview.

I work at a union hospital and our salaries are determined by contract. I was told when I came in that I couldn't go to the top of the scale, but they did bring me in as high as the contract would allow with my years of experience. I took the position because it paid more than any other hospital in the area. I haven't had any problems, except around the holiday scheduling, working at a union hospital..

Thanks for the insight RedCell. I have found that same information. I was planning on 40K each year to live on after Federal Loans. That is what one lender told me was available to grad students. That was before November though. I can't find one lender right now that is sending money directly to the student. Guess my budget will be even tighter than I thought.

RedCell, How did you get that much? I am under the impression that they will fund only the COA. Did you include your rent or house payments into the equation? I had been planning on the figures you quoted, but have been searching for new sources since November. This is my biggest concern if I get into school. Like I said, I had it figured out until the economy went to crap and my planned lender stop taking new applications.

Wow, only ten at this site last year? I know one of them dropped out at 10weeks because of the amount of time he had to dedicate to the program. If I get accepted, I will be studying all the time, and I have known that from the earliest stages. Only ten though. That makes me want to know how many interviewed for this site. Is this past weekend the only time they are interviewing? I have two friends who got their info in at the very, very last minute and haven't heard anything from TWU. They both said they had actually sent it in a few days before the deadline but couldn't get confirmation because of Thanksgiving. They are both good nurses and seem to have the credentials to get interviews from what they have told me. This is my first year applying though so I don't know what it takes really. From what I understood from the video it sounded like we might be competing against people from across the country for those ten spots. But that doesn't match up to what I have seen from previous years as an observer. Guess we'll see in January :redpinkhe.

Don't know how many they are taking at this site. I guess that would have been a good question to ask at the end of the interview, but at that time I was trying not to screw up. My interview was like yours Brittcon, I could have done better, but I think I muddled through ok. Don't recall if they asked personal questions or not, they started in on clinical stuff pretty soon after I sat down. This interview was alot better fit for me than my previous one at another local institution. I liked the people asking the questions and they seemed to like to teach. I learned about three different things during the interview that I thought I knew but evidently didn't. I know they said about mid January we would know the results, does anyone have any other info?

I also interviewed at St. E. this weekend. I thought it went pretty well. I would like to hear about others. It has only been one day and already the wait is killing me.:redbeathe Good luck to everyone who interviewing.
