I have some better than this. My life is a soap opera. My X roomate in 2000 decided to take a complaint out of my agency employment file and send it to state on me. I did not have good representation and ended with a complaint still on my license. It states that I did not put a bed up at 45 degrees and make a funny statement and nothing happened to the patient. I had the contracted patient at 30 degrees but he would not bend. I spilled a glass a water as the patient smacked his lips as I went to give it to him. He was black and so was the nursing assistant that wrote me up. Now, my life is ruined in nursing. I am going to a free lawyer to seek help to get it off my record. A certain type hospital that this happened at has seeked me out and fired me twice from nursing travel contracts making sure that I do not ask for employment in their facility. While I have never been to court in my life or been in a law suit. Last summer I had a successful nursing travel contract and got a good reference. I do have several good ones, thank god for something. Now two more nursing contracts happened. I got paid less money then, two people under 50 and had to pay double on my housing which was very poor. To take an update on my ACLS I had to pay for Pals which I did not need. Then, the most rescent contract I was given, was not enough money to pay for my housing and I got sick and was up all night with a flat tire so I lost the job again. I do have a Maine nursing license and I am from a small town there and have property. I am going home as I cannot get work here. I have been black balled from several agencies and one other hospital type. Only to have this carry over to other hospitals. If I had the strength I would end my life. That is too easy. I am going to have to give up nursing. I have lost everything. Anyone want to hire a nurse and not abuse her. Now, no one near my home will hire me either. All I want is work. I have not done anything bad. Nursing used to be fun and I loved it. I have no other way to make money and I have lost my retirement as I had to spend it to keep my home.

Unfortunately this crap happens all the time. I once got to a hospital and less than a week later told not to go back. Come to find out the company sold itself out. This week, I have an old discipline which is stupd and brain dead staff not nurses get into it and do not know how to read regulations, make a mess of things too. I was two days on orientation and someone misread my nursing license then decided that they were wealthy bye

I was mostly a reservist with some active duty time. I enjoyed training. Texas is nice around San Antonio, lots to do. I would have loved duty in France also. Keep looking for something you might enjoy and stick with it. Have FUN

The definition of a monkey dance is good or bad. It can be used as an affectionate meaning or a person who is cruel. EX cruel people will give you a monkey dance with their bad behavior without any respect for you. Then, when someone is nice we can all have fun and do a good monkey dance. AWWWWWWWW you are so cute, you will do fine. I had five calls this AM. I found a lot of website's for jobs. My new england state license is in the mail too. I have several state licenses. b Thank you for writing back. I was not aware that they could put ALERT UNDER INVESTIGATION ON YOUR LICENSE> There is a place on a job application to tell your side of the story also. I have a discipline on my license for as long as my state wants to leave it there and states I served a probation. It also states that my license is free and clear too. If you are denied jobs then, the job was not where you need to be as if that is all they evaluate you on. Many a boss has had a discipline put on them. People who escape ones are those that probably needed it. In my state the Under Investigation means that is it confidential under investigation and they are not allowed to tell anyone. You tell only. But if you go for a job and they are not told then it is grounds for dismissal. Without any restictions then, if then, I was told here in this state, " Do not give prospective employers any information unless they ask until they offer you a job. " Then, what I was told to do just to tell them, " you have had a complaint. " Simple, they can not kill you for it. LOL ( my sense of humor ) Who does not get complaints. We all do. If we did not get complaints it would show we are doing nothing. I have never seen a nurse that has not had some sort of complaint in his or her career. ( Behavior is not what others do to us but how we react. ) Go get a job. Nurses are in such demands. Take a look at the people with complaints in your state. You will have an eye opener as this is public record. I have had one complaint over the height of a bed which under some silly rule I say for it is called a near miss, this is all I have had in 20 years. I am told this is a good record. I always get hired somewhere. No one has a job all the time. Sometimes we have down time. Those kids of yours need a Christmas.. Get up in the morning wash your face brush your teeth, put on clean clothes and look for a job. This is time they want to hire. My favorite attorney told me." some doctors have 20 complaints in one day written against them to the state." He said this to be true as he has had to get them taken off. Let us suppose, that they drop your complaint and give you a warning. What if they give you a discipline, you can still work. Remember they cannot take your license unless you have done something drastic and it sure sounds like you have not. Some facilities hire people that are on restictions. It is what you do daily and how you believe in yourself and how you find your inner strength. I am here if you ever need me to chat with, you have support out there. I have been through the worst and walked through it. I may not have reacted as I know I could have. I do have this experience to share with you. If it helps then, maybe that is why I had to go through it. Things will get better and you will remember but this will seem so small. This is not a felony, you are not being locked up, remember it is not the end of the world. If I were there with you I would give you a big hug and boot in the rear to get out and get another job. I am looking for a job right now. I want a better one then I had. Soon when you get through this you will develop another sense to help you deal with things. This seems so highly unfair. I had a simular circumstance until the state changed the first time rule for a complaint. I have had two other complaints that dropped which I learned how to do it here through a good attorney. " Try not to get excited," he said, and " use your head not your emotions." It worked for me. Getting back to what happened to me. I was working an agency and had for a long time at a facility, about 8 months and one day a nursing assistant did not like me and perhaps had a resentment of some kind. She wrote me up got someone to sign it and then submitted it to my agency. I was fired and got two complaints in one day, one was for not putting a bed at 45 degrees and I had the bed at 30 which trying to give the pt. a cup of water while he smacked his lips and he was contracted. Now, in order to do this was difficult. Also the other complaint was I used the word A-- for donkey and the nursing assistant did not like it. The last complaint was dropped. I went to heck and back with the first because I was caught off guard and not knowing what to do. If only I had had a good attorney it would have been dropped, I am sure. So what I have learned is never attack a complaint. Give as little as possible information and write letters that are extremely good mannered. For instance, get information off the web, maybe medline that will back up a 30 min. rule and then, thank the BON or whomever for bringing this to your attention and treat it as a learning experience. Today I have worked through what was done to me. The complaint was not put into the BON by the Nursing Assistant but by my staffer at my agency who at the time was my roommate and she lost her job as the agency closed in my town. She got mad at me and sent the complaint to state without telling anyone. She said damaging things about me also. I have had to pray for her to forgive her. She is the poor one as I am still working as a nurse. I had to take a year's probation, this was over five years ago. Then today, the BON rules changed again where first time complaints are dropped. It is something I have had to get over. It is difficult to explain at times everytime I go for a job. And, also someday I will have something done about it if it does not drop from the record. The thing is stupid to me. Nothing happened to the patient. I dropped a cup of water that day apparently while someone was looking. I hope this is not too much detail but tells a story and helps someone else. Thank you. Good luck to you. Listen to the attorneys, they will help you and follow this all the way through then you can no more and be done with it and move on, it is not cause to loose a license. Do what the BON says. I am sick of nursing today. I am sick of being kicked, spat on, the abusive spouse is a good name for the administrators. Today a place I had worked for refused to take me back. Maybe I missed a med or cried when I could not work or finish a shift when my house was on fire. I called the risk manager. I am ready to take people to court for their back stabbing lies. Yes, nurses not only eat their young they eat each other. I wish I were not a nurse. I lost pay recently, because I wanted the day off for illness. Now, I find that STAFFING CO. HAS ADVERTISED me to other agencies as not finishing a contract. I am giving up, no one cares in this life, no one helps you, no one wants someone to get ahead. I have no family so bash her, they must say.. I did not do anything wrong to a patient, I always talked to my charge nurse. Maybe I need to lie more. I am so sorry for being a nurse. I am going to lose my home. No one cores. Life is awful for me. Someone puts you on a bad list and leaves you there. There is no place to go. I have to go two hours away from my home to maybe get a job. I have good references. I have run into some awful places to work. All I need is some support there is none I have run across. My advice to people is to stay out of nursing. They will hurt you. Thank you for letting me vent, anyone out there treated like this ? Please let me know.
