  1. I paid for the NCSBN 3 week review course and found it just OK.The customer service was terrible and the tech support people were rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend this program to anyone.Read Ann Sylvestris RN book and you will do fine- I used some of Suzannes plan along with the Saunders book and passed the first time.Doing 100 questions per day from a variety of sources and reading the rationales is the most critical part -I did like 10,000 questions before I sat for the NCLEX-RN-at least! Also believing you can pass and visualizing the RN license in your pocket is the best way to get your license.Good luck. Robert. RN
  2. Hi everyone, I also was a Corpsman- class 82-005!That was 1982 and I was active duty from 81-85.It took me awhile but in 1988 I challenged the LPT board in CA and passed first try.I worked for many years as a CNA and LPT then got tired of psych and took the LVN exam and passed this too-2003!I then went the Excelsior College route and finally at 46 years of age I got my ASN and just passed the NCLEX-RN too!!.I am so pleased and am thankful to the many folks who have helped me and inspired me along the way and especially to the Navy for teaching me the right way of doing things.I am open to making new friends here in San Diego,Calif-any corpsman out there who want to communicate and help further education-I am considering doing my BSN.Am also open to helping others with Excelsior questions/advice.Such a great site-I am glad I joined.Later Robert
  3. I liked NCSBN alot except their tech support was lousy and one guy was very rude!I scored 70 percent across the board out of like 1195 questions. Some tests I got 50 percent others 85 -so it balanced out.I liked not having to open a book but there were spelling errors and it was slow at times.Overall with this and Saunders I felt very prepared and I passed the NCLEX the first time with 75 questions.I studies 100 days and I know I did 100 questions per day from many different sources.Good luck and I hope you pass the RN exam.My big dread was oh please God dont let me have to study for the NCLEX ever again! It is such a relief to have this behind me.
  4. I agree with you and I am so happy your boss is better.I know first hand how great the ICU/Trauma staff is at UCSD.I was a trauma technician for a year and a half at the Hillcrest facility. The surgeons and doctors are superb also. One time we were waiting for a multiple trauma to arrive and all of us were in the trauma room getting ready when suddenly the automatic doors opened up and standing there was a Dominos pizza delivery man who asked"Did anyone order a pizza"It was hilarious and a much needed break from the anticipation if incoming patients.Trauma staff are amazingly wonderful people.
