Hello! Just started my FNP program this fall. I need to interview a NP, possibly working in Dermatology! Anyone?! that can help out a np student?!? thanks What is the nurse's role and primary responsibilities? What is the role title and position description? How did the interviewee choose this role? What educational preparation is required for the role? What is the setting in which the role is enacted? Are there role conflicts or "turf" issues within the organization, and if so how are they handled or resolved? What are actual or perceived barriers to practice or innovation? Are there any special skills that are needed to lead or influence others on the care team or within the organization?

omg i loveeeeeeeeeeee this and it totallly makes sense to me! mmm can we use the av family with other rhythms as well? heres my attempt... [basic senerio, wife is starting to get ticked off cause husband doesnt come home on time (heartblock) and now the husband tries to clean up his act by being on time. junctional rhythm: p: if the wife is waiting at home, she likes to hide from her husband(inverted wave?) qrs: the husband comes back home on the sametime.. v tach: p: wife does not wait at home any more. qrs: the husband comes home at the same time and tends to stay up longer than usual waiting for his wife?. (prolonged qrs) vent fib: broken marriage- p: wife never comes home, doesnt wait for husband qrs: husband comes and goes hoping wife will be home (...so sad haha) asystole: divorce: no ones comes home...both have given up ---------------------- haha okay- that was fun. not sure if it'll make sense to anyone else, but i actually think this lil drama of mine will help me on tomorrows ekg quiz :) gluck!

California Baptist University just launched their ELMSN prog. I have a interview with them this friday for summer 08' prog. They take in 15 people a application term but for this summer I heard they have changed it to 20 because of the large number applicants. i think min gpa is 3.3 but I know people with a 3.0 with a "conditional" application status. (something like that) you should apply there! I graduate from CBU this May, I LOVE IT HERE! **Good luck!

Here is goes ( the short + simple version) 1) What is your vision for nursing.(from a future Advanced nurse-CNS point of view) I believe a advanced nurse holds a multifaceted role. The roles of a CNS can vary Depending on the hospital and in your specific area of specialty. However, a CNS nurse is expected to be a clinical expert. It is their role to educate fellow nurses as well as patients to obtain the best results. I am excited to start the accelerated masters program so that through the rigorous coursework of scientific concepts, health assessments and methodologies I may be able to be of some assist in creating a more pleasant environment for the staff and patients. 2) How are you willing to accept your role of authority As a "fresh" graduate, I would accept my role with humility and a bundle of confidence. As a new nurse out in the field, i believe humility is very important. Obtaining a advanced degree through a accelerated program gives you a disadvantage; lack of experience. Being open minded, and willing to accept help from others will definitely be key in reaching my potential. CNS have roles as a educator and expert clinicians. Although my experience may be minimal, I am confident that through my years in the graduate program, I will obtain the knowledge necessary. I will be confident and take my responsibility seriously. 3) As a CNS's Leadership role, how would you deal with conflict and resolution. I would bring a clear head to the table. Listen to the different perspectives as well as taking down the different factors involved in the conflict and sort things out from there. ..this question is a big vague...not quite sure how to answer this>? 4) WHat are some contributions you want to make in the nursing field?! As cliche as this may sound, i want to make a difference in the nursing field. Growing up with family members constantly being hospitalized I've realized how important a friendly smile or a warm "hello" can be at a hospital setting. I would love to research on patient care treatments involving the most minimalist tools such as a :nuke:. I guess this goes more into therapy department but with a BA in the fine arts and art theory. I would love to use what I have learned previous to create some kind of synergy effect in the hospital setting. This can include using certain colors to ease patients highly irritated state, or holding some kind of art activities among fellow nurses to build sense of community?! hmmm These are just some thoughts going through my mind as I recall the interview questions. I have researched and researched on CNS's however, I am still quite unfamiliar with the CNS role- if some of my answers are just completely far-fetched please let me know- Once again- Thanks!:redpinkhe

Congratulations on completing your application for AF! I hope you get your good news soon! As for me, I am still waiting on my decision for the ELMSN program. Hello, I will (hopefully) be entering a entry-level masters of nursing program by May 08. After the first year, I will be able to sit for the NCLEX exam. Is there some kind of program where I can join the Navy while I am a student? Any financial benefits?! My brother is currently in dental school. Before entering his first year he finished his OIS and if my memory serves me right, is a inactive jr officer.(?) The navy is paying for majority of his tuition as well as room and board. Is there any cool programs like that for nursing students that have already received a BA in something else?

oh man.oh man... i hear ya guys on the whole "sweating bullets" waiting..haha I just applied for a ELMSN program- i'll be graduating in may, so I am hoping i'll be able to jump right into the nursing masters program summer 08. I turned in my application few weeks ago and I heard a rumor that the letters/phone call requesting for interviews will be given out in the next week- ahhh hopefully, i'll be 1 of the 20 luckys .. *fingers crossed* Q: how do most school contact you for interviews? do they normally call email?!:innerconf
