  1. You also have the right you ask GO for the "proof" of your "claim."
  2. OK, one more question.... What is the difference between the BabyComp and the Male kit, besides price???
  3. Thank you so much! I will look and see. I have a "yearly" in a few weeks and I will talk with my OB on his thoughts!! He usually has more than his 2 cents worth!!! ha,ha
  4. what is the shettles method and the babycomp?
  5. I do know it is harder to get pg with a girl because they are slower. WAAYY before nursing school and several kids...my OB summed it up as th X's are slower and weaker, and not in life or such, just the weaker sperm cell. Smoking is suppose to decrease your chances of having a girl....I did not smoke!! Due to the ther lil' X's being slower.......N-E ways the Y's are faster and stronger, but a lot of the times they tire out thus the little slow X's come and fertilize. Now with that said...he also said male babies in their first years of life tend to be sickier than female. No, it does not mean every male child born will be sick!! Well, what is the shettles method??? I am not set on even having a baby, I just want a guranteed little boy. Yes, probably impossible without invetro, but like I said I have ONE boy and it would just be nice to have two!!! I just can't get the idea, or "fixation," out of my head
  6. Well, shoot!! I should have known if its sounds too good.....................it usually is. Like, I saidthere were some things I had remembered, maybe not all accurate, from OB. Oh, well! I really don't NEED another child, I just really wanted another little boy. Thanks guys!
  7. OK, i have contemplated with the likely hood that I really, really want a baby boy. I have heard some the strangest things about how to guarantee a boy. Some, I would not let my dog try!! But, from a male nurse, one idea did strike my curiousity. I have several friends who had trouble getting pregnant and did not need fertility drugs, just the right time per se. I remember them running through a list their husbands should not do while, during, or whatever in their process of trying to become with child. One of which, was along the lines of men being in hot tubs or soaking in really hot bath water. Don't remember too much about the female and along them lines until after their were pregnant. So, anyways............the male nurse friend of mine said due to the X sperm being slower and the Y being faster and somewhat stronger, I too remember this in OB, the hot bath or hot tub "soak" for 10 minutes lessens the likely hood of a X chromosome making it to the egg and thus fertilizing it and having a female. Now, I have girls and 1 boy. So, it is not life altering to not have another child at all..............BUT I just have it in my heart that I want another boy. I thought these "feelings" would pass, but the more I have become fixated on the idea. Has any one else heard of this? Am I just reading WWWWWAAYYYYY too much into it because I want a baby boy and see some hope??? Can any one of you OB nurses shed some light on it?????
  8. I agree with all of y'all (texas slang,) but we have to stand together, GO does not just affect an RN with a BSN or an ADN, a LPN or LVN, I was a Telemetry Tech!!!!!!!! Oh, and a nursing student, when my "business" happened. I have worked with "eggos" on all sides, the RN who thought she was better than the LVN, the LVN who passed her boards and now she is too good for her fellow CNA's she left behind. It should not be a matter of what initials we have behind our names, we should not only think of how it affects "me," but how it affects healthcare as well. We probably have all made "stops" in the ER and complained on how long it takes. While in whole this can be another HUGE debate, imagine if they were properly staffed. We didn't have to wait so long and trying to get DCed, oh my gosh!!!!!!!! I have never had a nurse not say, "I am so sorry it is such a crazy day, we keep getting admits and I am just spread thin." I have been to 2 hospitals that have said this to me. The problem....................under staffed!! So, it does not just affect my career, it affects me if I get sick, if my children get sick. When is enough, enough? If we can't learn to stand together, then we fall seperately.....one at a time. Is this what we went to Nursing school for? For a "consumer reporting agency," who can't tell the pericardium from the perineum, tell us where we can and can't work??? and yes to make changes, it will not do any of us any good to complain if all we are going to do is complain, we have to be proactive about it. And if anyone is counting, besides myself, today is DAY FOUR that I have e-mailed all our favorite news personalaties!!!!
  9. That is the biggest reason I have sent an e-mail to the news stations, so others like me will be informed. I wasn't even a nurse when this happened, hell a patient wasn't even involved, and I knew NOTHING for 2 years. If you don't work in a hospital in DFW, you really don't have much of a choice and the area I am proficient is in the hospital and the area I am interested in....................hospital!! I can't work anywhere, I have a family I have to think about, so I stay and fight the false acquasations. (that is probably sssssooooooo misspelled)
  10. I have been a nurse for less than 2 years and this is the FIRST time I have EVER heard of GO!!!!!!!! Call me naive, wet behind the ears............I don't care. I believe whole heartedly there are more nurses like me that have no clue on this GO crap. And unfortuantly it takes a "wake-up call," like mine to happen to one "them," for them to hear of a Group One. We can sit here and argue back and forth about what needs to happen, but unless we find some sort of common ground to agree on to take care of the GO crap nothing will happen. I am just me, by myself and this is the THIRD day I have sent an e-mail to EVERY news station in the metroplex on GO. And I will continue to do so until they tell me to go away or listen. Who knows I may be ran out of DFW, never again to work as an RN, but at least I can say I stood up, I was heard. And if I have to go stand on the high-five during rush hour and stop traffic, I'll do it in some buck skin scrubs!!!!!!!!! {i'm american indian, so maybe if I did do it they would show me some mercy.......lol} Maybe I would not go that far, but I am not giving up, I didn't go to school for 4 years to let some vengeful nurse manager call me a liar and try to ruin my life!!!!!!!!!!! :chuckle
  11. Fortuantly for workers today, they have passed stricter Workplace violence laws. BUT, it is harder for he/she said with GroupOne. They don't take your word, ask for any time of proof, you the "consumer," may have, nor do they investigate like the FCRA requires them to under the Section that states the consumer will be granted a thorough and speedy investigation. Well, we got the speedy right. All GO investigates if someone at the reporting hospital says yes or no, again they do not ask for their "proof" either, just a simple yes or no. Fair isn't it? And finding a lawyer, I have talked to so many different lawyers, employee law...........is it discrimination, called the state board........................$1500 just to "retain" them, and every other lawyer from a-z just to find a lawyer who is proficient with FCRA that does not want all this money up front for a dang letter. :angryfire I feel like I am past the hopeless part and back down to the worthless level. I had a ray of hope when I sent the form letter, they did not reply to that, but they did send me a letter validating Cook Children's claim. Now, I am sending Cook's a letter...................believe me I have doubted even sending it, it feels like it would not matter anyway. Obviously, I am an idiot if I never even knew of GO until now.
  12. I have to think about my family. I cannot even imagine moving them from their friends and loved one's due to DFW hospitals and their malicious tactics. This was not something even mentioned in Nursing School. The union thing, if it is the future of Texas, I will have to cross that bridge when it gets here. Right now, I have to focus my attention on clearing my name with GO. I have e-mailed every news station in the metroplex and went back to look at Fox4 and Becky Oliver is there!! I initailly contacted the "iteam" but since I was e-mailing I contacted her as well. I have it set up with just a few clicks of the mouse, every day until I get some sort of response I will resend my e-mail to every news station in DFW again.
  13. I just followed the "icon" on their website, I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw a Becky Oliver report. I do know they are still "investigating" issues in the metroplex, use see the commercials all the time. I have decided that I will contact all the News companies, how would you like to have a loved one in the hospital and they lose a limb, use of their legs, or their life because they are short handed?????????????? They can investigate on hundreds of issues, I think if they would really enjoy this one if "whoever" reads the e-mails passes it on or however it works. I am sure their would be quite a negative response from the public because "grandpa" or "grandma," or whoever did not get the help in time due to employee shortage. And they see on the news......................GROUPONE, I know I would be furious if it were a family member of mine. The union thing, my only hang up would be the overtime issue. I don't know how many of you pick up extra shifts, especially around the holidays, for the extra cash. I don't want an organization governing that or they say we can't work 2 hour shifts. I like my work week over in a few days. If we could have a union and this would not be a big hang-up I would be all for it, taht way we would not have this GO crapppppppppppppp..
  14. Has anyone ever told you that you have test anxiety? I too failed the NCLEX a few times, I kept getting to 265 and I immediately knew. The last question had always been a below the average question. Do Kaplan and Kaplan ONLY. If you fail after the class, you can re-do the class. They bend over backwards to ensure you pass. Along with the class, you can review online at anytime. They have a library at their facility, each section is broken down and you can review all the materials on the sections you are struggling with. They have a CD with their course book with 7 tests, each one a LITTLE HARDER and more questions. You need to practice them as you would if you were actually taking the test. Quiet, no distractions, just you and the computer. This is not a test on your knowledge per se, they trick you, you cannot use anything you have seen because in NCLEX world it is all text book. You have to learn how to test in their world to pass. And finally, I have always struggles with testing and have been told numerously, especially in nursing school, that I have test anxiety. My DR. is a younger one and attends seminars and really stays current on "new" things. Well, there was a study on students with "test anxiety" they have discovered that most of them have a form of ADD, adult attention deficit disorder. This does not mean you zone out in class or cannot sit still long enough to watch a movie. This means you are easily distracted when there is nothing to keep your attention. Like in the NCLEX room, it is quiet, your mind is racing and eventually begins to "wander" you have let your nerves take over and you're useless, as far as testing goes. He gave me a low dose of Ritalin, 5 days worth. That way I could see how it would affect me. The first four pills I used with the CD from Kaplan and immediately noticed my score after I took the practice test was higher. I was not zoned out , out of my mind. It was like something was actually making me pay attention. I retested I got to 160's and it shut off, and of course I immediately panicked. I had always gone to 265, now what? 2 days later I got my results of the Pearson website and GUESS what???????????? PASS.. I did not fail because I was stupid, I gave up in my mind several times. The sane side of me NEVER let me actually do it. I do not take Ritalin now, I took it for that brief time. Now, when I go back to school and if ever another test like that arises..................well, I will pay a visit to my dr. for more help. Good luck.
  15. It is to the point I have NOTHING to lose, so I contacted the "investigation" team at Fox four. They may never respond, but I will continue to contact them, then other news stations until someone FINALLY says..............................ok, enough, NO MORE e-mails from this person and they look into it. I am not saying get rid of GO, all I want is more protection from a one-sided verdict. Heck, even in our legal system we are suppose to be innocent until guilty and guaranteed proper legal representation. Heck, If I would of robbed a bank, at least an atty would have already visited me at the jailhouse. BUT, if my nurse manager does not like me............................well, I have to look into it myself.
