Ok Freeking out now....
Don't worry, you will do fine. I absolutely hate english, but I pulled off a B in the class. Most of the assignments were to write about something we read, or write something descriptive about a place we visited, time in our life, etc. It was not as bad as I thought. Good luck to you.

Did not pass the NET
ukbsktbll, don't give up. The NET test is just one factor in the journey. I bought two different study guides several months before my test date and I believed it helped me. Best wishes.

Should I do it?
I would do school (if it wouldn't jepoardize your finances right now in caring for your children). Nursing would give you more options, more job opportunities, whereas you may be limited as an accupuncturist. You can always find a job in nursing where you enjoy working with children even if it is not in an accupuncture capacity. You must decide for yourself, best wishes to you.

Anyone quitting
I could not have said it better, thanks for putting it into perspective.

taking notes with online classes
I took four online classes so far. I printed a lot of the material and kept it in a binder then went over it and made notes.

Anyone quitting
I understand how you feel, I have been experiencing some guilt and fear over the past weeks now that I know it is time to make that move. I have been at my job six years too. As for money...I attempted to cash out equity in my home, and I won't know for about another week or so how that will go. I have a 401k, but I will still have to work. I am terrified of balancing work and school. I worry about being able to take care of my kids financially and being successful in the program. I have to do this though, I am pass the burn out stage at work and things are deteriorating. I have put off school for over ten years now and it's time to do it. I wish you all the best.

Anyone quitting
Is anyone quitting a full time job in order to attend school this fall? How do you feel about it? I am quitting, not voluntarily, but because my school only offers day programs and it conflicts with a 9 to 5. Although I hate my dead end job and conditions at the job are worsening, I am choked up this morning and apprehensive. I am due to turn in my notice on friday. I need to do this, but am afraid of failing and letting down my children and my husband. I will work part time, but I won't be making anything close to what I make now. I am stressing.

WEll...here I go!
Hang in there, I wish you all the best. You can do whatever you put your mind to. I am in a similar postion...planning to hand in my resignation 8/11, so I know exactly how you feel.

Low GPA, need your opinions please
I guess it would depend on the school you are applying to. Some weigh heavily on Entrance Exam scores and overall GPA. Whereas others may give you more consideration for the high grades in the science related courses. Either way, just keep plugging away at getting better grades and it will pay off. Good luck to you.

Advice on being burnt out
When I feel burnt out I go shopping, if I don't have a lot of money I go to a yard sale or thrift store, shopping is fun and takes my mind off things. You have to find "your thing" that will take your mind off things and help you relax. As far as the books, try studying and then taking a break, then back to studying. When I feel like my brain can't absorb anything else, I take a break and go do something else for a while, then back to the books.

how do you afford to live while in school?
401k and some equity in my home. I hate to do that but, I have to be able to concentrate on my studies while taking care of my family.

What classes are you taking for fall?
A&PI and Chemistry for sure

Passed the NET...
Congratulations... I would try to make at least one of those letters from someone in the medical field. Ask one of those Dr. or Nurses that you feel you have developed a good repore with. As for the essay, just sit down and write a list of reasons why you want to become a nurse and what you think you have to offer to the field, from a personable and caring standpoint and you'll do swell. Congrats again on the NET exam.

A & P Classes
It is hard to say whether or not that course will transfer. I am a former military wife, so I understand not knowing about future orders. I would take the class if interested in the programs there, but best believe I would take all my other pre-reqs first and save that one for last, just in case I had to move. Should you move to another area that does not recognize that format of instruction, maybe you could "test out" of A&P as opposed to having to re-take it because the credits aren't transferable. It really depends on the school. Good luck.
