  1. You're soooo lucky !!! I don't think we'll get any cadavers, because the cadaver we were supposed to get is...uhm...not a cadaver yet...he he the guy is still alive. Good for him I guess.... Anyways, I got a 96 on my first exam - most of the class got D's !!!!!!!!! And a 100 on my lab practical Yay for me :paw:
  2. well, it would save you alot of money...but I'd go with the one you are more comfortable with ( I would prefer the hard copy ). You'll spend so much time studying so definitely pick the one you feel more comfortable with. Hope that helped....Julia
  3. we have weekly quizzes, they are 10% of our final grade. So far I have A's but they are not getting easier LOL. I ended up dropping my speech class (in time and got a refund) so I am "only" taking A&P 1 and Stat now. I spend about 2 hours a day on AP and about 1 hour on lab. Our prof is very particular...which is good I guess. I just hope I'll get an A in this class I don't want to take AP again. I'll be 25 in less than 2 weeks and want to be done with nursing by the time I'm 29 or 30. OK enough complaining ---back to work...:smilecoffeeIlovecof
  4. OMG it was soooo much !!!! I had lecture in the morning and we went over a couple of things, and we will actually have a quiz tomorrow !! Plus, the guy said his exams will be very difficult as they will be multiple choice and ALL of the answers will be right....we just have to pick the "best" one!!!!!! Thanks... Lab was nuts, we did sooo much and because there is no class next week we have to do all the work at home....
  5. We had to write 4 short papers (500+ words), one long paper (2000+words) and one medium paper LOL we also had a midterm and a final exam which was like another 2000+word paper. He also wanted us to volunteer and write a paper about it. And we had to do a group project. So I think it's ok to call myself Ethics-expert he he he. If you have any questions let me know. :)
  6. Is organic chemistry a required pre-requ for nursing at your school ?
  7. i also wonder the same thing b/c i have a 4.0 in my nursing pre-reqs and a 3.8 overall. btw i too have a degree in business like you anyways, my little booklet called "new admissions process to nursing/dental hygiene/radiography" says: "......will be considered using a point system based on the number of general education/support coursework completed according to the following: 60 percent of the points awarded will be based on the amount of health program general education and support coursework completed. 40 percent of the points awarded will be based on the health proggram gpa (grades earned from general education and support courses applicable to the designated health program)". hope that helps you. i would recommed contacting your school anyway though. good luck to you !!!!!!
  8. Welcome!!!! And congrats on your excellent grades:D My school does that point system as well...can you tell me exactly how that works anyway? It seems like you know more about this than I. Thanks!
  9. I just finished up my ethics class and it wasn't hard at all. Just my professor was a lot more work than others....it was a lot of reading at first but then it got less. It is definitely not difficult. Anyways if you have any questions just post them
  10. Good morning:smilecoffeecup: funny I just read that about germans he he I'm german too and it is true people who come over from Europe usually don't have to take the GED b/c we can get our HS diploma evaluated. Unless, of course, he/she didn't finish school over there....then that's a whole different story....do you have the link to that thread btw? :smilecoffeeIlovecof
  11. Are you taking an express class?
  12. quick question: my friend wants to do the radiation therapy thing meaning an AS in radiograhpy from a CC. She keeps saying that their starting pay is around 60 to 80k I just don't believe her. That would be more than RN ?
  13. I should get all A's again this semester. yay. I hope this won't change with the classes I'll be taking next semester.
  14. I never open my books until the 1st day of class I always wanna make sure that I bought the right book LOL call me paranoid he he he
  15. I too am planning on taking AP 2 in the summer semester But let's not get ahead of ourselves here...he he
  16. Ok ok you guys win LOL I think what happened with 2 of my classes was that the 1 professor completely changed the way he used to do things...meaning a lot more assignments and a lot harder he wanted to "test" us and see how we do to see if he wanted to do it that way in the future....the other class, yes, she was easy meaning open book tests but no one mentioned the 3 books we had to read the 10 papers we had to write and the group presentation we had to do....I guess it's just my luck LOL
  17. Hi. Is this your 1st semester? Anyways, I know how it feels b/c I was not really being smart when I set up my schedule for taking classes the last two semesters. I took Algebra, English, Ethics, Humanities, Computer, Psychology when I really should have started with an Anatomy class:uhoh3: oh well, now I gotta wait even longer before I can apply. So don't feel bad, we're all playing the waiting game LOL
  18. I AM IN !!!!!!!!!!!! :monkeydance: This will be so much fun!!!!! I need an A !!!!! Also taking Statistics and Speech.
  19. you are definitely right ! don't take too many classes, you want to keep your gpa up to be competitive! I started with two classes last summer, and took three 3 credit classes and one 1 credit class this fall. Next semester I will take A&P 1, Statistics and Speech:o . How many pre-reqs do you need at your school before you can apply?
  20. oh yeah so many students lie about how much they study, they act like they just skim through the chapters for 10 minutes and then they get an A. I don't think so!!!! yeah yeah ratemyprofessor...well I have to say it's addictive BUT honestly I had better experiences in my 1st semester in college when I didn't know about that site. I swear they rate themselves...he he he. However, I can't get away from that site and definitely use it and work my schedule around certain professors classes...
  21. :welcome: Hope you'll like it here. I'm just finishing up my 2nd semester of pre-reqs. What classes will you be taking in the spring? Julia
  22. ...because I'm very interested in the medical field and the human body, and what I like about the nursing field is that your opportunities are so broad. You can move up as high as you want and choose from so many different fields, whereas in other occupations you always do the same thing every day until you retire. In nursing you can move around, and I think you'll never get tired of it. And if you do decide to do something else you can go anywhere in the medical field with a degree and experience in nursing. This is my main reason since I am a person who needs and likes change a lot and love to do different things all the time. Plus, I also enjoy helping people, and the money is good too
  23. yes I definitely need an A in A&P, I also want A's in Statistics and Speech, and I therefore decided to concentrate on just that...The professor I signed up with for A&P is supposed to be hard but also fair. I didn't want an easy professor because I know it will hurt me in the future. Wow, I sound so grown-up LOL :monkeydance:
  24. NRS2bNFL ~ you go to SPC right? How many times have you applied there? Are you finished with all your pre reqs?
  25. no, you're not scaring me, I'm actually looking forward to this class and I love challenges I just wasn't sure if I should be taking so many additional classes...
