Home Health Care Kettering for STNA?
Thanks Megd! I'd really be interested in any contacts you might have for either company. My current schedule only allows me weekends, since I have two children I watch through the week. I actually talked to Bethany Village about a month ago, but my weekly schedule made it very difficult for us to work out a schedule that would work. (?Beth? I beleive was her name... was looking for first shift full time staus.) I have since decided to attempt weekend work(and maybe a few nights a week). I haven't tried to contact them since, and anyone you might know would be helpful. I'd prefer to stay away from an actual "nursing home" setting, that's why I was thinking about home health care. Assisted living at Bethany would not be too bad(I'm thinking, but maybe harder to find an open spot?). -Thanks for your reply, very helpful!

Home Health Care Kettering for STNA?
I am looking for a good home health care company in the Kettering, Ohio area. I am currently working at a LTCF in the north part of Dayton, but it is too much of a drive considering the $$$! If anyone is working with a good home health care company now, that might be willing to throw me a lead, I would greatly appreciate it. I am state-tested and will be entering a RN program soon. I would be looking for either part time or PRN status. Thanks to any helpful response!:)

What to wear???
I'm about to go through nurse aid training next quarter.(which is a step on my path to becoming an R.N.) I was wandering what shoes are the most comfortable. I must wear white for my clinicals and they may not be clogs. I will probably wait until the first day of class before I actually purchase any, just wondering if anyone has had any luck with a particlular brand? Does anyone know if Nike makes a shoe that would fit the "no canvas" rule? Finally, what are the best scrubs or least does anyone have a favorite? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Refusing prenatal ultrasound
[EVIL][/EVIL]Lawyers...Money...Malpractice[EVIL][/EVIL] My wife and I did not see the need for what we felt were excessive ultrasounds for our last pregnency. She was 35 yrs. old and considered at higher risk for many complications, however, she never showed any signs of extra stress or health issues. I think we ended up having three(maybe-four) ultra sounds. This was our second child. The first pregnency was text book. I believe the health care system pushes for these procedures in order to help them against potential liabilities in the future. Like, "Hey doc, why doesn't my kid have blonde hair? I think I might have to sue you for this obvious over-sight! You really should have prepared me better. I had absolutely no idea. Blonde hair? Just wait until my lawyer gets a hold of this one!" By the way. The second child was the daughter my Wife had always wanted, and wouldn't you know it she was a red head. That doctor should have given me a little warning with that one!:rotfl:

OHH MAN AS A PARENT OF TWO I HAVE TO SAY, I ADMIRE YOUR SELF-CONTROL! THAT'S WHAT YOU AND I ASSUME YOUR SON HAVE, THAT THE CHILD WHO URINATED IS APPARENTLY LACKING IN. PERHAPS YOU COULD REQUEST A PARENTS & STUDENT TYPE CONFERENCE OVERSCENE BY SOME SCHOOL OFFICIAL(S). NOT NECESSARILY TO STONE THE CULPRIT, RATHER TO PROVIDE HIM WITH A REAL UNDERSTANDING THAT WHAT HE HAS DONE IS WRONG. HELP HIM PUT A FACE ON WHAT TRANSPIRED AND ALLOW HIM TO SEE HOW HIS ACTIONS IN LIFE CAN IMPACT OTHERS. WHO KNOWS WHAT KIND OF HOME LIFE THIS CHILD HAS. GIVE HIM AN EXAMPLE OF REAL LOVE AND CONCERN, NOT JUST FOR YOUR SON BUT FOR HIM. OFFER HIM A GLIMPSE OF LOVE TO DEFEAT HIS HATRED. WATER PUTS OUT FIRE LIGHT DESTROYS DARK SOUND ELIMINATES SILENCE LOVE REMOVES HATE GOOD LUCK GOD WILL ALWAYS LEAD IF YOU ONLY LISTEN

It Annoys ME HOW SOME PEOPLE CAN SAY "THEY ARE ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY"
I UNDERSTAND ENTIRELY HOW YOU FEEL. THE ONLY THING I WOULD OFFER IS THAT PEOPLE MATURE INTO WHO THEY ARE AT DIFFERENT TIMES FOR DIFFERENT REASONS. PRIORITIES CHANGE AS LIFE PRESENTS ITSELF. I AM GOING INTO NURSING FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS THE LEAST OF WHICH IS THE FINANCIAL ASPECT. I BELIEVE THE DISPLAY THAT SPARKED YOUR COMMENTS WAS PERHAPS MORE A REFLECTION OF THE MATURITY LEVEL OF THOSE INVOLVED RATHER THAN NOT CARING ABOUT THE HUMAN SIDE OF NURSING. I AM NOT THRILLED ABOUT THE COMMENTS YOUR CLASSMATES MADE BUT CONSIDER THE HARD WORK THEY WILL HAVE TO PUT INTO THE COMPLETION OF THERE STUDIES AND FURTHERMORE WAIT UNTIL THEY HIT THE FRYING PAN(IF THEY ONLY LOVE THE MONEY THEN A COUPLE OF YEARS OF NURSING WILL GIVE THEM PLENTY TO HATE!) :angryfire ANGER CONSUMES, BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOURSELF LET GOD DO THE REST. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CAREER!
