Hey all Just wondering how long it took people to settle down within the workplace (not life in general) and know exactly what they were doing etc. Seems to be a big jump from going what I do to what I will be expected to do when I am in USA etc. Such as using a stethoscope, ordering tests, starting iv's, not having any house officers to pass on things to and having to call Consulatant at home if somethings wrong etc. And do you still get to do dressings etc or do LPNS end up doing all of that? Excited but scared I am not going to be good enough. Thanks

Its not stress as such! I cant contain the excitement anymore! I have been trying to move to USA since I was 16! I have gone down every path possible, USA is my favourite country, and I am getting so close to living my dream (its like a kid waiting for Christmas!) Looking forward to getting that second phone message then!!! :) Will call beginning of next week!! Fingers crossed they update it!

Hi I keep calling the visa hotline (dread my phone bill) and he keeps saying the same thing! Something that I dont even understand! The man says "We are currently awaiting the return of the biographical (i think) data from the petitioner. Once we receive these documents, it will take between 6-8 weeks to review them" What on earth does that mean?!! Is the petitioner being slow sending these? I have been calling for maybe two weeks? Shouldnt they have them by now?! I also emailed them (prior to knowing the hotline number) and this was there reply: "Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC). NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa processing fee for this case. The Immigrant Visa instructional packet (Form DS-230) is being sent to the designated agent. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for the agent to receive this information" Seems like two different messages to me!

Thats the thing, its something I never do, I never shout I am so shy and quiet, but I had 14 patients all needing my attention and the fact that there were no HCA's to help me answer buzzers, I had people on the phone wanting me, patients wanting me, doctors wanting me, other nurses, you name it wanting my attention that my stress levels boiled so high that I exploded!

Yeah I know what you mean! I am SICK and tired of doctors, patients and relatives treating me like a piece of dirt, I did not go to school for 3 years to get the treatment I receive. I am a lovely and caring nurse and I rarely feel appreciated, drives me nuts! The amount of time myself and nurses I work with go home crying. So many times have I wanted to quit! Its just not fair!

Oh yeah! Dont tell me that! I was running around trying to look after 14 patients by myself yesterday (no HCAs, noone at this time) and this doctor needed my help, so I said give me 5 minutes as I was busy. I asked him if he had everything we needed for this procedure whilst he twiddled his fingers sitting at the desk adn he said yes. I get to him 5 mins later put on a plastic apron, and he said "I need one" so I pointed in the direction to where they were! Apparently he gave me a dirty look. I then get to the patient and ask him where all the rubbish bags and inco sheets are, to which he replied "I need those". Well I lost it (I never lose it!) I flew my arms in the air and shouted "I just asked if you had everything, and you said yes, I do not have time to be running around after you!" I was fuming!!! Then he wanted me to explain the procedure which he was doing, to which I refused and said "your the one doing the procedure I dont know what your doing, you explain" then he expected me to dispose the rubbish, I again pointed in the direction of the sluice! I think he thought I was his private slave, I AM NO SLAVE! stupid doctor! They drive me up the wall!!!! Ok I am calm again now I have that off my chest lol!!!!!

Hello! Yes she is a nurse. She loves everything but the nursing in the states! The doctors are horrible, and you have a lot more responsibilty. I did 4 weeks as a student nurse in the hospital that she works in, and I thought it was very good! Only 4-6 patients per night, and lots of staff and the patients all have their own private en suites and cable TV, and theres a drugs machine which pops out the medication for you! I thought it was much better than the madhouse NHS here, where everyday I curse I will quit! Lol!! Bye for now, off to a health farm, need to relax!!!

I feel life is soooooooo much better! I go over there alot for long periods of time, lived over there for 6 months once and weather and everything (I find) is fantastic! My sister has been over there for 10 years and I think she will agree, her 2 sons (born over there) have everything they possibly could want, they could have never have that here in the UK! I love USA so much more than UK and I am counting down the days till I go! The only thing I will be missing when I go there is friends and family! Roll on greencard!!!

Hi Thank you for the messages, I emailed NVC earlier today. The last thing I heard from anyone was July 3rd with the choice of agent thing. Its so hard trying to work out an approximate time (what the hell takes them so long!!) Arrrr so frustrating!! Thanks again :)

Hi all I emailed the london embassy and I got his reply: Department of State records show that your application is still pending with the National Visa Center (NVC) in New Hampshire This to me does not sound good! Does anyone understand exactly what this means? And can you work out what stage I am at? I am never going to get to USA! LOL! Thanks

We are only moving items such as Dvds, Cds, books, clothes, shoes, my scrapbook stuff, a few pictures, photo albums, photo frames etc oh and a desktop computer. Thanks again :)

Thanks for replies, like the sound of pay!! Yeah I am often left with 14 patients on a late shift, talk about a struggle, and they are all so sick, half of them should be in HDU! Too much for me to handle! Things going soooo slowly, I want to be in States all ready!! lol!

Hello! Me again! Was just getting quotes from international autosource regarding buying a car. They were asking me if I get a greencard straight away or if I have to wait a while or if I even get one!! They need to know as Volkwagen wont finance someone unless they have one. Could someone enlighten me on this topic please? Thank you so much :)
