Favorite brands of scrubs and why?
I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a good brand of scrubs without pockets that has a mock wrap look. I love the look, but don't want pockets

1st Year Camp Nurse Advice
Hey, I'm not a nurse, but I have been working as a nurse assistant in a pediatric clinic for a month now, and have worked with the special needs population. Based on my experience with children who have developmental disabilities and medical needs, my advice is always to be ten steps ahead of them. If they can have a conversation, try to maintain that while you conduct your procedures. and most of all have fun

Being Video Taped by pt/family
I was in the hospital a lot this Spring with a family friend's baby and there were big signs all over telling visitors no to video the staff. It's strange that your hospital doesn't do that

Tips for a Medical Assistant / Certified Nursing Assistant
I'm embarking on my journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and would greatly appreciate any tips or advice from those with experience in this field. What are some essential things I should keep in mind as I begin this new chapter? Are there specific skills or insights that could help make my transition smoother? Thank you in advance for your guidance!

"I've lived here all my life"
Poor women, I'm glad that she is happy and that children today don't have to go through what she did. Also, back in the 60s, it was much less common for people to keep their children. Today, there are so many services that make holding a child who is challenged at home so much easier

Can I get a nursing job that lets me keep the Sabbath?
thank you all for your answers, I appreciate it I'm going to be applying to nursing school and I can't wait I love medicine and everything about it, from the information to the hands-on I just love to learn about it im not sure if this belongs here but its another question I had so I guess ill put it here do you guys hate when the people staying by the patient ask questions? I go to volunteer for patients in my community and stay with them in the hospital all the time, mostly peds. I'm wondering if nurses find the questions I ask annoying.

Can I get a nursing job that lets me keep the Sabbath?
Hi rose_queen Thanks for your reply, yes I would definitely and happily work Sundays if that meant I could get a job Also, do you think with my experience I would be able to land a job in a peds hospital, taking religion out of the equation for a moment

Can I get a nursing job that lets me keep the Sabbath?
I apologize, I put this in the wrong answer originally. Here it is again Hello Nurse Beth, Firstly, I would like to thank you for your response. It was clear, insightful, and respectful of my Sabbath observance. I want to emphasize that I specifically want to work in a hospital setting, as I believe starting there will be a lot of benefit in the future. Additionally, I feel that the skills I have accumulated over the years in my involvement in the medical field would be useful, and I have a passion for using those skills to help the people around me. Moreover, I would love the opportunity to work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or even the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU). Critical care truly resonates with me. I'm wondering if you think I have a chance of pursuing a career in pediatrics in a hospital setting. Also, could you provide me with advice on what kind of job prior to nursing school would give me leverage to secure a better position once I graduate? Thank you so much for your response. I look forward to hearing from you!
