I won't be using private loans, but I am applying to a lot of scholarships. If you live in Maryland, look up scholarships and grants offered by the state. Use Google and try to find legitimate scholarship opportunities with hospitals, the state, UMSON, nursing associations, etc. It takes work, but it's worth it!

I talked to someone in the scholarships department a couple of days ago. I know, for the Conway scholarship, they will let the winners and losers know. She said that we would receive an email.

I don't know why you can't get through. I've been calling 1(410)706-0501 and pressing option 2. I haven't had a problem getting through as long as I've called approximately 30+ minutes after they say they open or come back from breaks. Yes, the length of time it's taking is confusing. Other programs I have looked up respond sooner. Maybe they are really understaffed or something.

Alright, so I called admissions earlier today. They confirmed the event happened but that they have events like such after application deadlines depending on how many seats are estimated to be remaining. Supposedly, this event doesn't take away from the amount of seat allotted to priority deadline applicants--as long as I deduced the correct conclusion from our discussion. I'm good. I've already prayed about it. No sense in stressing. God's will be done. Keep ya heads up people. We worked hard!

Yes. I asked specifically about the July 15th priority applicant pool. That's actually upsetting that they did on the spot acceptance after that priority deadline! I would really like to know their thought process with that event! The only reason I can see how that is OK, is if only a small amount of students applied before the priority deadline. Now I have to apply to other Universities and spend, what could be, unnecessary money on... I applied to the Shady Grove campus.

Alright, welp--I called again and was told to expect to hear about my acceptance around the end of September or beginning of October?. I guess I'll have to apply to other programs to be safe!

I highly recommend you all read or listen to(on Audible) the book "Make It Stick" by Peter C. Brown- the book is about learning more effectively and efficiently. It was recommended by a guy I saw on YouTube who went through CNRA school and earned straight A's using these techniques. I'm currently listening to the book and taking notes, which I'll implement during my last semester of classes before nursing school. So far, I'm about 4 chapters in and can already tell this book is a Godsend!
