  2. i invited my bf... hah. join, Fall 2011 UAB MSN students ^^ http://www.facebook.com/groups/248616778499227
  3. Wow. I just got hired as the RN Care Coordinator for our Pilot clinic. We're opening this Monday! So much planning, organization, learning... SO MUCH. But I am so excited I am doing a lot of "google"ing about the Care Coordinator Model and its relationship with the RN. It's definitely a role that, as pilots, we will be developing. It's very special. I'll also be starting graduate school with UAB, MSN for the Clinical Nurse Specialist role. Very much in line with the new job that I have been blessed with. Goodluck!
  4. I've got my blazer id registered. It's lanpwin@uab When can we register for classes? I'll figure out the facebook group as soon as I can. for advanced patho, the book ISBN is Author:MCCANCE •Edition:6TH 10 •Publisher:ELSEVIER •ISBN:9780323065849 i think i have to add people as friends before i can start a group because it requires me to invite people... and i am not facebook friends with anyone starting UAB MSN Fall 2011.
  5. i uploaded all my immunization stuff in one document/pdf - which includes multiple records documenting my immunizations, and then applied it to all of the requirements that were listed that were appropriate.
  6. congrats! what's your first semester going to be like? seems my first semester will be Advanced Pathophysiology.
  7. how long did it take for you to be able to register a blazerid? i have submitted all paperwork, last of which were my medical/immuniziations and physical, since yesterday. certifiedbackground still says pending approval, except for the MMR part - that one says approved....
  8. I'm also very excited to start at UAB for their MSN/CNS degree. I am currently the RN Care Coordinator for an Atlanta-area clinic. We are opening a clinic based on the patient-centered medical home. My role will be built around monitoring our patients on a continuum of care, and using our databases to manage the populations of our most common chronic illnesses. I've always wanted to be a CNS, and I suddenly happened upon this coordinator role for this clinic almost a month ago, so I have been developing this new position during these past 3 weeks. Then, was excitedly offered a spot in the CNS program this past week. Someone is telling me this is where i'm supposed to be and what i'm supposed to be doing. Education, research, and support are very important to me in my role as a team member, colleague, friend, family member, care provider, etc. My mantra is to empower individuals to take charge and responsibility for their choices and their desire to live. Everyone has a life, but not everyone knows how to live.
  9. CCRNDiva - Just read your post! Loyola will be lucky to have you :) Goodluck!
  10. Just sent my faxes today. Got both fax confirmations back with OK. SO, hopefully I'll hear something soon! JSoupy, when did you fax your stuff? And is everyone here on facebook? I was thinking about starting a facebook group for our class, even though I'm not FNP or ACNP.... >.
  11. Occ, I haven't taken Statistics in 6 years. Haha. I understand! But for the POS, indicates ill be taking Rsrch Summer 2012 all by its lonesome.
  12. Jsoupy, I just found out one of the adm personnel at my clinic notarizes. yay! I guess no one else is CNS.
  13. Are you actually notarizing the copied documents (nursing license and BLS) ? If so where are you getting it done? Anyone been able to talk to student affairs?
  14. Oh. I'm also sigma theta tau :)
  15. JKRN, I'm a GA nurse. GPA 3.4. Recommendations from my unit preceptor, unit charge RN, and two RNs who practice in the specialty that I am interested in. Turned in my application early. Pretty strong essays. Goodluck! Jsoupy, ill be going for MSN, Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist. Anyone else for Adult CNS?
  16. I think I got in part time as well; which is fine by me. I start Fall 2011 *duh* and end Spring 2014. It looks as though the schedule is only listing one class, 3 credit hours, Adv Pathophys.
  17. If I am correct, it appears that my first and only class for Fall 2011 is Advanced Pathophysiology... That's only 3credit hours? Looks like graduation is due for SPR 2014... So, I think I will be part time as well.
  18. 1. Name the school you will be attending UAB 2. Degree you will be working on (including specialty) MSN, CNS/Adult 3. Whether you will be working full time or part time or quit Full Time 4. Will you be attending school part time or full time Part Time
  19. got my letter. attached is an image of what it should look like for those of u waiting :)
  20. i didn't see anything but "application complete!" online. someone tell me if they see otherwise.
  21. Nothing was indicated when I logged on.
  22. The nice lady from UAB admissions office said that I was sent a packet and not a letter. I live in GA so said packet is not in my hands yet and I don't have deets yet. I hope this means what I think it means. She told me not to worry. goodluck everyone!

  24. by CCM do you mean care coordinator? I just accepted a position for a pilot Patient Centered Medical Home in Atlanta, GA as the RN Care Coordinator. I'm very excited. I'll be helping to coordinate follow up care and help patients manage their chronic illnesses independently and in conjunction with their PCP. :)
