  1. Hi! I just heard back from Medstar and was invited for an interview after the phone screening. Any tips?
  2. Anyone else interviewing for GW? I have a NICU interview coming up, would love some tips!
  3. I was turned down by all units but NICU. I had an interview over a week ago an still waiting to hear back
  4. I was shortlisted for Women and Infant Services a couple of weeks ago and still haven't heard from them ?
  5. I have plenty of friends who changed careers and had zero healthcare experience and got in
  6. Hmm, I think for a program that had multiple cohorts, it's disorganized at times. Also, they ask us constantly for feedback, and not much is changing, so what's the point of asking? If it comes to grades, then yes, I personally think it's easy, but I also put time and effort into studying and homework. A lot of my friends have good grades. It's hard to fail if you do the assignments on time and study. There are some people who struggle with some classes, but from my observation, it's because of a lack of time put into school work, etc. The university offers a lot of resources, tutoring, and office hours, so if you struggle at any point, you will find help.
  7. I don't remember exactly but I think when I accepted there was an option to ask for more and I had to write why I want more. I basically said that it would help financially, that I worked hard etc basically it depends on your situation/ personal story. If not I would ask maybe admission office hwo you can contact
  8. Hi, I am in the program currently, and I have mixed feelings. It's hard to say if it was worth cause I didn't experience other nursing schools, but I guess it was. The faculty is nice and helpful, but the program is intense and sometimes ridiculous. There are a lot of activities outside of the program that are interesting and can build your resume a bit, like research, policy, and various interest groups, but I'd say these are better to explore definitely later on in the semester. There are events you can attend, and it's a good way to make friends with people from other semesters. If it comes to parking, I drive to school, and all garages are expensive. You can get a monthly pass, but it's about 120$/ month. I paid for it for the first couple of months and then started looking for street parking in the area that is free. Sometimes, it requires time to find it, but it's possible, and if I'm running late, I just park at the Washington Street garage, and if I show them my school ID, I get a discount. I don't know much about loan repayment programs. Just focusing now on finishing the school. Lmk if you have other questions
  9. Hi, I asked for more money and received 10k more and took student loans to pay for the rest and for life while in school.... I don't think there is a better option, cause 90% of my class did the same -.-
  10. Do you guys know if umson give any financial aid or what should we expect financially? I saw that they charge extra fees for simlab etc and that adds up. I'm choosing between umson and jhu and not sure what to do
  11. Hi, that's not a lot! I read my acceptance wrong and the 25k is just merit scholarships. They said financial aid will reach out with some more information for need based aid by April 1st. I hope to get some of that ?
  12. Yes, I found the letter on my portal. Not in the email How much aid, if I may ask?
  13. I just got in too and I was excited but now I'm sad cause I only got 25k and I don't know how I could possibly pay the rest ? I was hoping for more financial help
  14. I received an e-mail that there is a status update and I checked the portal
  15. Hi congrats! Did they mention anything in the email about financial aid, or did you get a separate email with that? Wondering when people find out at JHU
  16. Damn they are really taking their time -.- Can't wait
  17. I applied the same day ? still waiting ?
  18. Congrats! I check my email everyday and I am getting stressed
  19. No, I don't think I will. My first choice is JHU, and still waiting for it. I live in DMV area and as much as I would love to move, if I can get into JHU I would like to say here. I want to move somewhere else, but maybe after nursing school when I start working Do you have to move for the school? Hopefully it will change any day! I honestly didn't track the progress, cause I didn't want to get stressed. I did the Augusta campus. Never been to Georgia so I just read online, about both options.
  20. Thank you! I applied at the beginning of January. Hopefully, you will be back soon! Is it first choice for you guys? How many schools did you apply to?
  21. Congratulations! Happy for you! Waiting for my email, but thankfully I got into other schools, so if it's not meant to be I have options
