Loma Linda University (LLU) CRNA - APP 2024
Nursing GPA: 3.85 Science GPA: 4.0 Cumulative GPA: 3.3 (prior degree) Total nursing experience: 3yrs; 1.5yrs ICU by matriculation at a large, Level 1 metropolitan hospital. Previous work experience as an anesthesia technician. Hospital-wide committee involvement. Decade of volunteer experience. Ultimately, what I feel allowed me to separate myself in the interview was being able to tie all of my answers back to how each particular experience has prepared me for this career. Having a lock-solid "why CRNA". And at the end of the day — a bit of luck. Don't give up. Keep knocking on doors. Cast a wide net and don't limit yourself to your top school. If it's meant to be, nothing can stop it.

There's honestly not a lot that can be said outside of what was mentioned already. If you get the opportunity to interview with multiple schools, you learn that it really comes down to being a good fit for their particular style of educating more than anything else. If you have an interview, your qualifications stand for themselves. Just go in there and be yourself! Genuinely. Best of luck!

Oakland University-Beaumont Graduate Program of Nurse Anesthesia CRNA 2024
No, but I fully anticipate getting a rejection email. Feel like the panel went as good as it could possibly go, but then I botched the sim. Hard learning experience... but an opportunity for growth nonetheless. I'll keep you guys posted.

Don't lose hope. I worked in the OR with lots of CRNAs, and they all said to cast a wide net. What one school is looking for may not be what another one is. Reach out to the school and see if they can fill you in on the areas you could strengthen, and then throw that net back out there. And as always, when you get to where you're supposed to be, hindsight will have the insight. ??
