  1. No, you can do all your pre-req courses at a different school as long as the courses are transferable!! I think the 40% thing only applies if you’re in a current program ?
  2. hey! Your GPA is calculated on only the 5 pre-req courses (2 BIOL, 2 ENGL, 1 STAT)!
  3. Has anyone gotten started on their supplemental requirements like First Aid and criminal record check ?
  4. Hey! Yes I received my offer today! I applied with a 3.9-4.0 (not sure the exact GPA) :)
  5. Hey guys! I also just checked the portal and was given an offer! It didn’t show up in my email though yet…it said it was updated about an hour ago around 10am for me! Good luck everyone! :)
  6. Hi everyone! I applied with a 4.0!! Does anyone know how long it will take to hear back from Langara? Good luck to everyone!!
  7. Hey! So I applied for the University Transfer - Science program when I applied to VCC. This is basically a program that allows you to do the basic first year Science courses at college, which can be transferred to university later on if you want to switch! I had a friend who did her prereqs at Langara say that it was kind of tough, so I think looking into VCC might be a good option because I found the courses to be pretty okay in terms of difficulty.
  8. Hey! So if you look at the Langara Nursing pre-req website, they say that your second English prereq must be a course that is NOT equivalent to ENGL 1100, 1123, 1127, or 1128 (these courses can only be used as your first English prereq). So I’m not sure that you can replace your ENGL 1129 mark with ENGL 1100…only ENGL 1129 would work for your second English prereq in this case! You might want to email an advisor with the two English courses you took and ask if they satisfy the prereqs ?
  9. Hey! The competitive GPA at Langara has increased a lot over the years and 3.0 might be on the lower side; seems like a GPA of 3.6 is on the safe side. If you took your prereqs at Langara, then maybe consider doing them somewhere else like VCC, because I know Langara has a tougher grading than other schools. (For example, an A+ at VCC is 90-100% but at Langara it’s 95-100%) You might want to spend a semester and redo 2-3 classes to get your GPA up, but if you’re feeling like you don’t want to wait to get into the program for that long, LPN might be your next best bet. Only problem is, if your end goal is becoming an RN, there might be a long waitlist to go from LPN to RN (I’ve heard some say years)! I hope you figure it out, good luck!! ?
  10. Hi! I’m applying to the Langara January 2023 intake, and this is my first time applying! I’ve completed 3/5 of the prereqs at VCC so far and am doing the other two right now. My grades: BIOL 1: A STATS: A+ ENGL 1: A+ My first semester went way better than I thought and am hoping to get at least a B+ in BIOL 2 and ENGL 2 this semester! Fingers crossed!
