  1. Summer is not eligible for FA, only fall and Spring terms
  2. Congrats! Happy to hear, you've been waiting a long time to get your eval and happy it all worked out for you.
  3. Thanks! Yes, working on support withing the class already, and have not even started the program yet!
  4. Michael99 replied to Sonal's topic in TEAS Exam Help
I paid for the official TEAS study guide and also for the online TEAS practice tests through the ATI website and they were very helpful! They have two different versions available and it gives you a really good sense of how the exam is laid out, what types of questions will be on the actual exam, and the timing you need to adhere to in order to complete the exam. It was some extra cost but well worth it in my opinion... some of the questions on the practice exams were almost exactly the same on the actual TEAS exam! It really helped me and I got a 92%! Best of luck and good studying!
  5. Thanks for all the recommendations @Honyebee! I will definitely check out Damion's posts on here. Have you done any of his NCLEX courses through thenursespeak? Regarding the boyfriend advice, yes... SAVAGE.. ?
  6. To all the experienced nurses / nursing students out there… I’m wondering what tips you have for a new nursing school student? What supplemental books did you find helpful? What are the best shoes, watches, or other supplies that you’ve found? What other tips do you have for a first time nursing student? I’m admitted and looking forward to starting a nursing program Summer 2022, and want to be as prepared as possible for what is ahead! Thanks in advance for your response!
  7. At least 6-8 weeks for the points evaluation, and approx 2-3 months from the application deadline for your semester
  8. What Duncanda said... When I contacted them, they said that it will eventually pop up in the holds section, and not to worry about it for now. They said it will take longer than the 24-48 hours as specified in the admissions letter. Since we are a cohort, we will be automatically registered in our classes each semester! @sims4 did you hear back from SF State? @J.O congrats! Like Duncanda said, we want to get our cohort together for a chat/meet and greet sometime soon! Michael
  9. Hi @heatherb23 - acceptance was through email. When I calculated my last 60, it was the most recent 60 units in total. If you go back as far as your bachelor's degree, then take the most recent semesters and use the highest graded courses if you are calculating the final units and have more units than needed to complete the final 60. I had this exact scenario, and I had 54 units total in my most recent coursework plus the two semesters of final year of bachelors. CSUSM used 6 units from the previous semester (the highest grade) to calculate my last 60 GPA, even though I took a total of 12 units that semester. Does that make sense?
  10. @Rmag Congrats! Looking forward to meeting you too! Can I ask, where did you take the Bioethics/Medical Ethics course? Michael
  11. I took a holistic health course (for the anth req) and it was a breeze... but I can't find anywhere to take Bioethics other than CSUSM and the waitlist is 40+ people LOL aka not happening
  12. @Duncanda @Sethman -I also had an international transcript and it took months for it to get accepted properly! On the academic calendar, it looks like Summer semester starts June 6th! Also thought everyone might like to know, of the first three courses we have to take (ANTH 301, BIOL 323, PHIL 345) my points eval indicates that I have previous coursework that satisfies two of the courses. It showed "satisfied" on my points evaluation under those sections, so if you have taken a Nutrition course, a holistic health course (or other upper level anth course), you may be able to get credit for them! 2022-2023_academic-calendar.pdf
  13. @Sethman, thanks and yes, I received my points eval in December, I had previously submitted an application to the program so I had once before received a partially completed points evaluation, when I got it this time it said “updated eval” so they must have kept it on file and were able to quickly finish it. If you haven’t got your eval back yet, maybe contact EL and see what is missing.. it took me a long time to get my transcripts accepted correctly when I did it last year. Best to you. Michael
  14. Hi everyone, I got an admissions offer email this morning as well! I will be accepting, looking forward to it - congratulations to you all, @Duncanda, @sims4nurse hope to meet you soon! Michael
  15. Hi everyone, thought you would all like to know that the school released the admission stats for Spring 2022 - here they are: Avg: 36.70 range: 35-47 pre nursing core GPA: 3.74 last 60 GPA: 3.69 TEAS: average 88.39 Best of luck to you all!
