I work at UCSF and many departments are moving from Parnassus to Mission Bay due to the recent renovations and expansions at the MB campus and planned renovations for Parnassus (basically revamping all the old buildings) so I would not be surprised if the move was from Parnassus to MB- I don't know for sure but I have been part of department moves from Parnassus to Mission Bay and I assume there are more planned.

Hey, I can hopefully speak to this a bit. I am still deciding between this program and a few related ones however a few things I really like about this program include the following: - You are given an BSN (many direct entry programs do not, and only give you the MSN/DNP) which makes finding jobs that pay well during the step out much easier and also helps with future employment -the step out year can be done while taking non-clinical classes asynchronously/online while working full time which again allows you to gain experience for future employment -I have friends who are current students in the MSN portion of the program and they really enjoy their courses and say the professors are wonderful -clinical placements- friends in the program have said NU is very good about securing clinicals for their students and my friend has had a rich variety of experiences in diverse clinical settings in the FNP program which she is hoping to use as a foot in the door for post graduate employment -location: Boston is great for clinical placements and learning opportunities- I did my undergrad at BU and I personally love the city so its a plus for me (that's more of a preference thing though) CONS: - cost- its pretty expensive even compared to similar programs - MSN vs DNP tbh not sure how much this matters at present but I know most Masters programs are transitioning to DNP programs by 2025 so something to consider if you also applied to direct entry DNP programs - step out year, both a pro and a con I suppose as you don't get your NP degree as quickly but you do get valuable RN experience with a BSN Hope this helps! It's really just my two cents and part of the process I have been working through as I consider different programs so its definitely just my thoughts and not based on anything more.

My friend has had so many interesting and diverse clinical placements while in the program at Northeastern so it's definitely a top choice for me- best of luck with the admissions! I'm sure it will pick up after the holidays and I hope you get the good news soon!

Hi there! Congrats on UVM! I'm leaning more towards Northeastern or potentially a few of the programs I am still waiting to hear back from at the moment honestly more due to geographic location- my family lives around the Boston area and I went to undergrad in Boston and I would prefer to be there rather than Burlington but I am still considering all my options. I have a close friend who is currently in the FNP program at Northeastern and they are building a lot of good connections at their clinical placements that they may want to pursue as post grad jobs when they graduate in the Spring which is also a major factor for me as I am planning on staying in MA long term. Best of luck to you in the decision! Both programs are great and would definitely be amazing opportunities which is why I find myself on the fence at the moment haha

Hi everyone I just received my acceptance letter for the DENP program at UVM!

Hi! I applied late in the Summer, interviewed on November 22 and received my admission decision on November 24. I applied to the FNP speciality. Northeastern is definitely a top contender for me so I am excited about the admit! My undergraduate GPA is 3.72 (health science and biology) and I am a certified nursing assistant and have experience working as a patient care associate for about 10 months during undergrad working 24hr/week shifts at a major Boston hospital on a cardiac care unit. I also have experience working at a major Boston hospital as a clinical research intern working on chronic pain studies. During undergrad, I also interned at a community health center for about 6 months working as a health promotion intern focusing on social determinants of health. Since graduating from undergrad in 2020 I have about 1.5 years of experience working as a clinical research coordinator on chronic pain studies and have 2 scientific publications. My letters of recommendation are from a physician who is my current supervisor, my previous nurse manager, and an undergrad professor in public health.

Hi Everyone! I applied for FNP earlier in the Fall and completed the interview on November 27th and received my admission on November 30th! It was a very fast turn around and the interview was pretty general.
