Brandman University ABSN Program
No problem. It’s an accelerated program so classes will get tougher as she goes and also the class load will get larger with time. Make sure she doesn’t procrastinate on assignments because normally there is a signature assignment in each class that’s worth 300 points..: I’ve came close LOL.

Hi Steve, Yes I would. It’s a great school. Every school will have their issues and everyone will say something different. The instructors there are awesome and truly love to teach. I graduated in May. I would Highly recommend

When I got in my GPA was a 3.2, how it worked for me was, when I got accepted all the courses you need before you start the program was done before your cohort starts. As long as it’s equivalent it will transfer in, the best way to find out, is to send in your transcripts to get evaluated. I know the program is competitive now, when I got in, the program just started. Good luck!

First off congratulations! You will have zoom meetings. Some teachers will post slides or material to look at and others won’t it’s depends on the class. You’ll have a lot of sherpath to do. As for hospitals Sharp would be the only one. I know they are working on getting others but sharp is good enough for me. I will say this, every program will have their issues and many people will complain about the smallest things, as for myself I love the program, I’m in the 2nd cohort so when everything was evolving we were adapting. They have some really good instructors, and many of them want to see you succeed. If there is something that you don’t understand, ask, I asked a lot of questions and have been able to learn as much as I can and move forward. and again congratulations, you made it!

You’ll do a ton of care plans which are worth 30% of your grade, and anything under 75% is a fail. So I would invest in a good Care Plan book. Also a good medication guide, there is a bunch of options out there. Also, purchasing a cardiac stethoscope is beneficial to hear lung and heart sounds etc because it amplifies it. Other then that, that’s about it I would say.

Clinical placements is where you will get your hand on training. So those placements will be coordinated with the courses your taking. Right now our placements have been sub acute, acute, clinics and mental health offices.

The program is blended, at first you will be all online, once you get the first few classes completed, you’ll go into the SD campus 3 days a week. After that, once you get into gerontology your start actual clinical. There is a vaccine exemption at the school. BUT clinical placements won’t take you unless your fully vaccinated. you’ll have a white top and burgundy bottoms, I started the program last august way before they changed the name. So not sure if they will get new uniforms or not. You can work and complete the program, but it’s discouraged. I’ll be honest here, I didn’t think the program would be super hard. I would always think to myself, the next class couldn’t be harder then this, and guess what it has been. Every new class is harder and harder. The majority of my cohort is working and they don’t have an issue with it. Hope this helps
