Info on Arizona State (ASU) Online Concurrent Program?
Currently working on my RN in California, and I'm deciding between CalState Dominguez Hills and ASU for my BSN. My questions are: How quickly can you finish at ASU? I know they have concurrent enrollment, but my workload in my current program is far too heavy to take on any more. I was hoping to take some classes in the Summer. When you are done with your ADN, do you have to take the NCLEX before you continue at ASU? *since technically you won't be taking classes "concurrently"? It seems like you don't have to take Chemistry to apply- is that true? Thanks for any info!

How do I document A&O status of nonverbal patient?
I have to do a paper on a patient who has had a stroke and is nonverbal. He attempts to point at images to communicate, but is not always successful. But he does respond to verbal commands with his unaffected side. How do document his A&O and LOC? Any advice is helpful!

Fall 2021 College of the Desert
Also, while. I'm here: I've been wondering about the dresscode and what to buy besides the scrubs and uniform. I have tattoos on my wrist and forearms, so I guess I'll need to wear some sort of long sleeve to cover them? Also, for class days, are there any rules or recommendations for black pants and shoes to get? I don't own anything like that, so I would love to start shopping, but don't want to buy anything that won't work!

You could maybe get a loan to bridge the gap of the lost income. It sucks, but it will be worth it in the long run!

I got in! I will also say that people in the nursing department were totally helpful and responsive to an issue I had. I wouldn't hesitate to bring any issues to them.

Yay! Congrats! I'm so glad you got in! Hopefully, I'll see you there:)

Oh man...I don't know yet! I had another issue, something like the one above, so they DIDN'T accept me. But I contacted the department head and straightened it out, so they're looking at my application again (which I'm super grateful for!). So, I'm still sitting on the edge of my seat. What about you? ?

Thanks! I'm just worried I did something stupid on the application that disqualifies me- like, at first I sent it Registered mail rather than Certified (so I sent it again). I actually applied to nursing school in Louisiana before I moved here, but they disqualified me because they didn't have all of my transcripts, but they did. Someone didn't file the transcript with my maiden name properly. That's the kind of stuff that keeps me up at night. Hoping to get a decision soon, so I can move on:)

Fall 2021 College of the Desert
Hey! I've been wanting to get back to you. Life LOL... I have NOT applied anywhere else. I'm putting all my eggs in this basket. I don't have child psychology or Chemistry, which a lot of other programs require. If I don't get in, I'll prob take those next semester and try elsewhere. We'll see. I'm ready to accept any possible outcome. How about you: where else did you apply? I need to broaden my options as well! Still have my fingers crossed for this program as well! Hope you get in too. Seems to me you're qualified and motivated. Hope to see there ???

EVERYONE is going to get lower points with this new point system! We're all in the same boat. I would definitely NOT feel discouraged yet. I'm actually taking Argumentation and Statistics this semester, just in case I need to re-apply (but also cause I need 'em for a BSN in the future)- so that's one way to increase your chances for next time

So, yeah- they totally changed the point system! If I calculated everything correctly, I'm at 67. I got above a 90 on my TEAS, which I did not expect, and that gave me a bit more of a cushion. I submitted my application and got the confirmation email, so now it's time to wait. How about you?

TEAS Exam
WOAH. Just finished- I got a 91.3! But lemme tell you, there were hardly any questions from those 2 quizlets on my test. There were actually a lot of things I didn't study (from the B and C tests and the yellow book practice tests)... I had to rely on my common sense, LOL. Anyway, so relieved to have that behind me. Good luck to all who have yet to take their test and thanks to everyone on this thread for all the guidance and encouragement!

TEAS Exam
I am taking the test next week as well (Thursday). I have trouble just reading the Mometrix book and the ATI manual. I do better taking practice tests and targeting the areas where I really need to study. I got an 82.7 on Practice Test B and a 91.3 on retake. Unfortunately, I got a 78.7 on Practice Test C, but hopefully it really is much harder than the test. I also bought a practice test bank from NurseHub, but the jury is out as to how helpful that will end up being. My school only accepts the score from my first try, so I have to do a decent job. Can't wait til it's behind me!

TEAS Exam
Hi Ya'll, I've been following this post for a bit and it's helped my studying so much- thanks! Quick question for anyone who took the test remotely: can you use scrap paper?

Best TEAS Study Material? Mometrix or...
I'm thinking the Basic Study Package should be enough...
