I am a student, so not there yet. However, a co-worker of mine graduated 7 months ago and just got her first job. She is in the DFW area. Not sure about FL, but I think TX is somewhat flooded with PMHNPs. There are so many programs now. Hang in there; it may just take a little time. All the best!

Thank you. That was my plan, but my local community college only offers basic statistic & I know 3 people that took it & said it was very hard. I have been dreading this class. Another friend told me to take Health Statistics bc it is more interesting & easier. She took it at Grand Canyon University, which is $1500. I may just suck it up & do it. Maybe I will check a few other community colleges & see if anyone else offers jt. Thanks for the tip.

I know this post is a few months old but noticed that no one replied. You have come really far to give up now. However, if you absolutely know that you will not be happy being a nurse, it's not the end of the world to change careers. However, nursing does offer a lot of different opportunities, some which are not also direct patient care so that is something to think about. I wish you all the best in whatever you decide if you haven't already make a decision.

I'm looking into this program as well, but thinking about working as a psych nurse for experience before applying. I would be curious to hear how you like it, as I continue researching a few programs. Thanks!
