  1. Hey Davey Do, excuse my ignorance here, because there's something I'm missing... how do they fire you after 5-17 years? That's so maddening and unfortunate. They were clearly happy with you for enough time. Is that not considered "letting go" - where they have to cut staff due to budget, rather "fired" which has a more punitive/disciplinary context?
  2. This is so well said, thank you for sharing. It is all about 1) the money, 2) them covering their own asses (and why we need to cover our own), 3) nurses being replaceable. If I don't like the terms and conditions of that job, they'll find someone who will work it. 4) I have been in similar situations where I was penalized for being (apparently too) honest.
  3. Hey.. oh gosh that took awhile. I was also told that it could be awhile until I am notified. I don't know if that makes it easier or harder to move on...? ? Yes, I will get legal counsel if necessary. Have you been able to get a job since then? I am sending you compassion and empathy. ❤️ I hope all of this gets resolved easily and quickly for us both. I know how alone I feel, and it's a small comfort that someone out there understands. Feel free to DM me if you need/want to talk.
  4. ^^ And thank YOU, JBMmom, for sharing your success story. It gives me hope and some reassurance.
  5. I know this is an old thread; and BeatsPerMinute, I truly hope things have gone better since this. I just wanted to chime in and say that reading this advice has been incredibly helpful to me in my current situation, so thank you all for sharing your experience and wisdom.
  6. I know this is an old thread (thankfully for you, op!) - Medapop, I truly hope things have gone better since this. I just wanted to chime in and say that reading this advice has been incredibly helpful to me in my current situation, so thank you all for sharing your experience and wisdom.
  7. Hi Nurseinthecity11, You wrote this last year, so I hope things have been going well since then. At least, time has passed and you have moved on. My heart goes out with compassion to anyone going through this. It is horrifying and often unfair. In that some people can be reported for minor mistakes. I am in what sounds to be a similar position. I am just sickened.. with shame (even though I did not act unethically or illegally), helplessness, confidence is gone, etc.
  8. Great question. I'm also interested in pursuing this path.
  9. Don't do it. You're right, it's a can of worms - and none of their business. If you're fit to practice, you're fit to practice. Period. None of their business what goes on in your head ?
  10. So, sounds like overall... staff morale is good? Is understaffing a major issue? What units are less fast-paced?
