FALL 2020 Johns Hopkins MSN: Entry into Nursing
Hello, I'll be graduating this August from this program. I am originally from California. However, I plan to work in Baltimore, MD, for about a year before returning. Since California is not a compact state, would it be best to take the NCLEX in California? And then transfer the license over to Maryland? Also, how long does it take to transfer license from California to Maryland? any clarity on this process would help! Thank you!

Thank you! @ardni_12 Could you tell us what you did differently the 2nd time around? Did you change your essays/resume? or gain additional work/volunteer experience?

For those who have been accepted, has anyone done the COPE Health Scholars program? Do you recommend it? What are your thoughts?

UCLA MECN 2021
Congratulations to all those who have gotten accepted! For those who have been accepted, I have a few questions: What was the word count on your essays? How many pages was your resume? How early before the deadline did you submit your application? Was this your second time applying? If so, what changes did you make to your application/essays for the 2nd time? What type of work or volunteer experience do you have? If this was your 2nd time applying, did you gain additional experience to add to your application? Did anyone take Epidemiology before applying to the program? Did anyone take additional science courses that are beyond the required prerequisites that you feel strengthened your application?

UCLA MECN 2021
Thank you, Yuki, for this helpful information! I just looked up this course. Is it titled: Principles of Epidemiology PB HLTH X186, and were the instructors: (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) and (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME)? I know you said we have 6 months to complete the course, how long did it take you to complete it? And how shortly after you found out you were accepted did you start the course?

Congratulations to all those who have gotten accepted! For those who have been accepted, I have a few questions: What was the word count on your essays? Did you do 2 or all 3 essays? If this was your 2nd time applying, did you gain additional experience to add to your application?

Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Spring 2021
For the transcript entry section, how did you all categorize freshman, sophomore, junior, senior for undergrad? I did 5 years in undergrad, and nursing CAS told me the following that status is based on credits, 0-30 is freshman, 30-60 is sophomore, 60-90 is junior, and 90+ is senior. However, when I checked the nursing CAS website it says this: in general, four-year students should list one year per designation and five-year students should list their last two years as senior. Just wanted to check if anyone else followed this?
