  1. I also got offered a spot at the Jacksonville campus today! I'm beyond excited!! Will someone explain to me what we need to do for Castle Branch? Do we need to purchase all of these things individually or does the first one listed include everything we need?
  2. I also got a rejection email. I wish I could say it was unexpected but it's still heartbreaking. Good luck to you and everyone else on your journeys!
  3. Congrats to everyone who got accepted! I’m still waiting for an email as well but I’m trying to keep my head up. No news doesn’t necessarily mean bad news! I really hope I get in and can call the rest of you classmates!
  4. Thank you!! It looks like I can access it since I have a UCF ID. Unfortunately admissions is closed right now but I’m planning on calling as soon as they reopen on Monday. The application seems easy enough to fill out so it shouldn’t take much time at all. I appreciate your help!
  5. I’m glad I’m not alone here! I’ve been seriously stressed out about it haha. I just made a meeting with an admissions counselor! Thank you so much I had no idea you could even do that. That’s awesome we can open the nursing application! Are you going to go ahead and submit yours or wait until you’re accepted to the school? I’m sorry I don’t know if retaking the course would put you at a disadvantage. I would think as long as you have that prerequisite you should be fine. They’ll likely look more at your GPA.
  6. Hey everyone! I'm still waiting to be admitted to UCF. I applied in late October but I kept hitting snags getting all the paper work in. Does anyone know if I can access the nursing application even though I haven't been admitted to UCF yet? If not, would someone tell me what's on the nursing application so I can be prepared? I'm just worried because I have a feeling that if I am admitted, it will be cutting it close to the nursing application deadline. Anyone else in the same boat?
  7. Sorry I know I've asked this before but I'm still confused. Did anyone who didn't get their undergraduate degree at UF have to send in official transcripts from colleges/universities they went to transiently? Also did anyone send in official AP scores from College Board? I know these things are listed in my official undergraduate transcript (which I sent to UF) but I'm just worried they'll need these other documents too. I've sent a couple e-mails to UF but haven't gotten a response so I'm kind of freaking out!
  8. Thank you so much! I emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) but she hasn’t gotten back to me yet. She’s been so helpful throughout this while process! I had to pay to unarchive my scores too! What a scam...
  9. Agreed! I sent my application and undergraduate transcript in mid-October and it wasn’t until yesterday that I realized I needed to send all these other things in, and that was only because I called UCF and asked. I’m pretty sure no one would have told me if I didn’t ask. I’m worried they won’t even admit me to the school by the time the nursing application opens. Now I’m worried that UF required the same things and I didn’t send them in
  10. UCF needs me to send all of these things and they didn’t even tell me they were required. As far as I knew, my undergraduate transcript was enough
  11. Random question. Did we need to send in our high school transcripts, official AP scores from College Board, or transcripts from schools we attended transiently? I’m currently in the process of sending all these things to another school who didn’t tell me originally that they were required.
  12. For the essay portion on NursingCAS, did you all include include the questions and then respond underneath them or did you just number your responses?
  13. I just entered my classes manually (only the prerequisites) on NursingCAS and sent in my official transcript to UF. Just to confirm though, do we need to send our official transcript to NursingCAS as well?
  14. If you enter the HESI without showing your room or actually talking to a proctor, just know that something is wrong. There should be an exit button in the HESI program, click that and go back to the ProctorU page (don't freak out like I did. Once you connect with a proctor, they'll give you an access code to get back in). Once I got back to the ProctorU page, there was a little icon to message someone, so I just sent a message there for help. It took about 5 minutes for an actual human to start talking to me but once they did, they sent me a link to download the software where the proctor verifies your environment, computer, and ID. My proctor was very understanding and was able to let me back into the exam without a problem.
  15. I'm glad it wasn't just me! I have no idea how it even happened, I just followed their instructions and my exam began without a proctor. Because of that incident, ProctorU is the worst proctoring service I've used, however, my proctor was extremely nice and forgiving once I connected with him.
  16. You have access to the calculator that's embedded in the exam for every section, but you only need it for the math section. It's very simple like you described with just basic functions, but that's all you really need. It's just tedious because you can't type in numbers from your keyboard. You have to use the mouse to click the numbers and the functions so it's a little slow.
  17. For those who were wondering about the HESI, I just finished taking it through UF and ProctorU. When I opened ProctorU, it tested my computer's camera and microphone, took a picture of me, and took a picture of my ID. Then it took me straight to the exam and I was freaking out because I didn't think there was anyone actually proctoring me but I was too scared to click the exit button. I never had to show my room or talk to the proctor so I knew something was wrong. But my camera light was on and there was a notification saying that ProctorU was recording my screen so I just went with it. After a few sections, the green camera light went off and I decided to exit the exam. I waited about 5 minutes to chat with a real person (freaking out the whole time that I might not be able to re-enter the exam) and then they told me my proctor had to let me back in. I eventually was able to download the software where I could talk to a proctor and he said everything was fine but it was a good thing I exited or my exam might not have been valid. Anyways, it ended up alright but I was a distracted during the beginning thinking about how my exam might not be scored. To answer some questions I had about the exam: there is a calculator (it's very basic and you have to hand click the buttons on the screen, but it works). I didn't realize that the math section would have "type in the answer" questions in addition to multiple choice so just be aware of that. My proctor allowed me to have a water bottle on my desk. I was allowed one sheet of blank scratch paper and I used the entire thing front and back. I was told I couldn't take a bathroom break but after my whole debacle, my proctor let me go before I was logged back into my exam. The exam was 3 hours but there is no timer on the page. I also wasn't able to see my laptop's clock so I had no idea how I was doing on timing. The sections aren't individually timed, you just have 3 hours to complete all the sections in any order you prefer. The sections we didn't need to complete weren't shown (Chemistry, physics, vocab). Once I had a proctor, I couldn't see them but I could talk to them through the microphone and text chat. The critical thinking section was like what other people in this group described. It's 30 questions where you have to determine what the best option is for a patient given the circumstances. I just googled quizlets for that section to study and it was very similar. I was given a score for that part during the exam, but my score report doesn't show it. The learning style and personality style sections were each 15 questions and just ask things about how you would describe yourself. Compared to the TEAS, I felt like the questions were harder (except for grammar) but I ended up doing better somehow LOL
  18. If the learning style and critical thinking parts aren't scored then that makes me feel better about those sections. I'm glad your proctor was good and was able to fix your problems! I've taken online proctored exams but never through ProctorU. From what I've heard they seem to be the strictest when it comes to anti-cheating. Of course I'm not going to cheat but I just want to know what to expect. I an avid planner LOL
  19. Hello! I'm sure I could do without a pee break but I took the TEAS last week and by the end I was absolutely starving even though I had eaten before. I'll just eat extra this time haha. I'm glad you don't see the proctor because that would make me feel really anxious. I'll have to look up some practice questions for the critical thinking since I have minimal medical experience. Is that part actually scored or does it just tell you what type of personality you have?
  20. Hi Tori! Thanks for the info on the HESI and your experience in Jax! It sucks you don't get a break on the HESI but I'll manage. I have minimum experience in the medical field so I'll definitely try and study some Quizlets for the critical thinking portion! I'm sorry the pandemic has caused your learning experience to change so drastically! It sounds strange to do virtual clinicals but I'm not sure what else they could do to keep students safe.
  21. Hi guys! I'm also applying to the 2021 accelerated BSN program at the Jacksonville location. I'm taking the HESI this Friday with ProctorU. Has anyone taken it online with ProctorU? There's almost zero information about what to expect. I've read some things about the online exam and I'm not sure if they're true. Can someone please answer these? Are we given a calculator on the exam? Can we have a water bottle on the desk while we take the exam? Can we have a scratch sheet of paper? Are we allowed to take a bathroom/snack break? How long is the full exam? Are the individual sections timed, or do we just have to complete all the sections within the full exam time? Will the sections we don't need to complete (physics, Chemistry, vocab) show up on the exam and we just skip them, or will they not show up at all? Will we see the proctor or will they just be available via chat? What is the critical thinking section like? Is it something I need to study for? (It's not covered in my prep book) Kind of freaking out haha. Any help would be appreciated! What was your experience like with ProctorU?
