  1. I got my acceptance as well! I am super grateful and also received the 25,000 Nursing Excellence scholarship! I was waitlisted last semester. I think I unfortunately may be rejecting my offer and committing to St. Louis University for their entry level MSN. I think I like the idea of a smaller school for clinical purposes, but that may open up some spots for waitlisted people. Good luck to everyone in your journeys ❤️
  2. Hi there! I haven't seen a forum for the St. Louis University AMSN Fall of 2021 so I wanted to start one to get in touch with any other students out there. I just got my acceptance for this program yesterday, and I am SO excited. I haven't seen a facebook page either but was hoping to start one soon. I am looking forward to meeting anyone who's also really interested in this program, and congrats!?
  3. Hi! Thank you for starting this thread. I am applying in hopes of the Sacramento campus! I still need to take TEAS as well, I am scheduled for March 20. I am still also working on my writing samples. Good luck to us all!
  4. Honestly I really don't know. It has changed so much, it's always changing LOL. Originally it was Hopkins, but it is also the most expensive so I am trying to see which ones I get into and then weigh my options. Sacramento is home, so if I got into Samuel Merritt or even this program I would be happy because I could save some money and it would be nice to be close to my family. I will just have to see where I get in and then make a decision I guess!
  5. Thank you! I sure hope so I just am so ready to go and start! Thats great I have written a lot of essays so hopefully can spend some time on them. Good luck to you as well! I will keep you updated on when I submit my app ?
  6. A 3.6 is great! My overall is a 3.42, and prereq GPA for this program is a 3.89. I was a CNA for 3 months but I was never certified so I am currently working as a home health caregiver. I have been applying all over(St. Louis, Hopkins, Linfield, Northeastern, Samuel Merritt) because I really want to start by this fall, I applied to some for a Spring start but didn't get into the ones I hoped. I re-took Anatomy/Lab and currently retaking physio lecture so I think that will help! Im not sure though, applying is definitely a process I have learned.
  7. I have too, which is why Im worried I don't have a 4.0 GPA but I don't have terrible stats either(I think LOL). That is very true hahahah. I guess its worth a shot! That sounds like a great plan. Are you applying to other places as well?
  8. Hi there! Wow all of your stats are fantastic! I am currently retaking physiology lecture, but if I receive an A which so far so good, my A&P GPA will be 3.84, Science GPA 3.66, and 3.64 Nursing GPA. I have no clue what to expect because I am not sure what they view as competitive either or if they take into account health experience of any sort. I just keep hoping whatever happens will be for the best! I really am excited about this program though. Are you all from Oregon? I am from CA!
  9. Hi there! I actually recently found out about this program and am interested in applying. Considering they only accept around 20 students I imagine this program is quite competitive. I am from Sacramento area, are you?
  10. Yes I got the same, I was just curious if they sent you a separate email yet. Okay sounds good looks like we are on the same page then! I just wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing anything.
  11. Have you received anything confirming application received from Linfield ?
  12. Of course! I have been getting more and more excited about this program since doing more research. I am from California, and have heard really great things about Linfield. I retook Anatomy, and Physiology so I hope that doesn't weigh too much on my application. Hoping for the best for us all!
  13. Hi there, I didn't see a forum for Linfield ABSN Summer 2021 so thought I would start one! Any others out there? I am super excited about this program so my fingers are crossed. I know it is pretty competitive. How is everyone feeling?
  14. Hi everyone ! I applied for SLU AMSN fall of 2021 start. I was just curious, how are you all liking it? I’m not in yet but really interested in this program. How are clinicals and sim labs? Do you feel well prepared for the profession? Any and all advice is helpful, thank you ?
  15. Hi there, First of all, I am SO sorry this happened to you. I can’t imagine your frustration. You are not the first person I have heard this from, which makes me a little worried. I’m not even into JHU yet but I’m applying to other schools and have made this my top program I am interested in. Just out of curiosity, do you feel like the clinical experiences were lacking due to Covid and not being able to go into the hospitals ? also, how many students were there in your sim labs and clinical rotations ? Do a lot of them feel similar since getting a job in the field ? When you talk about the gap between school and becoming a nurse what is it that you are referring to? The fast pacedness, job itself, incontinence care things, etc. ? I’m only curious because I worked as a CNA and currently as a caregiver and I’m just wondering what particularly you feel you are not prepared for if there is anything specific. I so appreciate you being so honest for us trying to figure out where to go and how much to spend and what to prioritize when it comes to school.
  16. Don't worry peeps! Remember that whatever happens will likely be meant to be. Also, you can always reapply if this is your top choice. I did that, and I still haven't heard anything though I applied to the later deadline so that I could fix my application. Just try and relax, go on a walk to clear your head, or do some online yoga which is my personal favorite. You got this! You have all worked so hard to get here. Keep the faith. You will all make great nurses no matter if JHU gets you there or not. Just out of curiosity, did anyone who received an acceptance have any prereqs in progress? Thanks and good luck to us waiters and big congrats to everyone who has gotten in!
  17. I was ! I have no clue. I am trying to remind myself that just because I was waitlisted doesn’t really guarantee anything ? I did the best I could in fixing what I knew I could on my application and I am hoping for the best!
  18. Gosh I really love how supportive this group is of each other ! I’m not expecting to hear soon because I wasn’t in the early decisions group. I really hope we all get to go to school together because this is a great group and I love how we are all so dedicated to nursing. Good luck to everyone !!❤️
  19. Thank you! Yes I think I have been doing my best to see it that way and also not get my hopes up at the same time. I just think if it's meant to be it will be so holding onto that. I tried reaching out to NursingCAS, and they weren't able to rush it. I am hoping it will be verified soon, but I am not sure. When I tried speaking to admissions they said the application no matter the circumstances could not be reviewed until it has been verified by NursingCAS. I did include an extra document in my app explaining the situation, especially considering my professor was about a week late uploading grades. Good luck to you too! I think it will be okay, if anything I knew it was important to get this grade in. We shall see! I will let you know if I hear anything else from JHU admissions regarding the issue.
  20. Hi all! I submitted my application about two weeks ago now and it hasn't been verified by NursingCAS yet. I am sort of concerned too because my final grade for one of my prereqs was not posted until December 29th, and I was not aware it could not be verified until that transcript was submitted. I had applied for the Spring of 2021 cohort and was waitlisted, and my understanding was that my application would mostly be verified already. Unfortunately that was not the case, but when I emailed admissions they stated that they won't be able to review it until its verified by nursingCAS, but that it would still be reviewed because it was submitted before the deadline. I am hoping that they understand why I couldn't submit my transcript until I did, but I am still concerned about it. Fingers crossed for all of us! I know we have all worked so hard to get here, so hopefully we can start 2021 with some exciting news!
  21. Hi all! I didn't see a thread for the CU Denver 2021 Traditional program starting in Summer. I am a Boulder grad and would love to get some insight on this program from either alumni, current students, or applicants like myself! I am hoping to receive an interview. I love that this program does an interview process in order to get to know each applicant on a more personal basis. Anyone out there also looking forward to hearing more about this program?
  22. I received an email for my Nutrition course to be checked/to send the syllabus. I will probably need to wait another week.
  23. I just want to know so badly so I can stop thinking about it ? I was waitlisted at Johns Hopkins, and not many people get in from their waitlist so it would be great to get into this program. Regardless, if I don't make it in I will most likely reapply ! I love that NYU takes a global perspective on education. I am super interested in possibly a public health route so fingers are crossed hopefully I will know tomorrow. Hang in there everybody that is waiting!
  24. Hi all! I just wanted to let everyone know I just received my decision and I was also placed on the waitlist. If I don't I get in this time, I will probably apply again for Fall of 2021. I have seen a few people post on here what they changed on their application after not getting in the first time. I am thinking of changing up my essay a bit and hopefully will have my new grades completed before January 1. Any more advice? Thanks so much ?
