  1. Yes , I do , do you mind if I stay in contact with you ?.
  2. Do you guys know if there are any nurses with nicu experience that applied ?
  3. Same I started in the cticu in August so I guess we will be applying around the same time ?. I live in NY so it will be perfect and easy for me to get into Long Island , that's if I can get in . By the time I start I'll have two years solid. Hopefully ccrn , cmc , and CSC . I just need to work on eventually getting some leadership experience once I'm comfortable.
  4. Covid made it worse but I’ve been like this since I was 20. I have some injuries and a rotated pelvis and chronic joint pain the wear and tear probably just makes me so exhausted because my joints are tired of being tight . I’ve done a lot of research on the psoas if it’s tightened and shortened it can put your body in constant fight or flight mode stressing your adrenal glands . If I can find someone to release it maybe my body can slowly recover
  5. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t understand that health issues and joint pain can hit you at any age . It can be extremely disabling and it can hinder how you live your life . I’m taking it easy and not giving up even though my joint pain can be so bad . For energy I tried something called intramax it’s like 82.00 don’t buy it on amazon and it has really been helping me with my energy levels . I also foam roll and stretch on my days off . I don’t think I can do bedside for more than another 4 years . Hopefully with 2 years of ICU I can get into CRNA school and that way nursing can be less challenging on my body .
  6. I’ve been going to PT for years now but now I go once a week . On my days off I foam roll and stretch . I do 15 minute total body workouts that don’t require squatting or jumping . Tylenol doesn’t really work for me but I do take large doses when the neck pain and headaches are unbearable. My body didn’t hurt as bad in the OR but in the ICU after I get off of work my entire body is right and painful because of my rotated pelvis . One side is chronically tight. My goal is CRNA school and I’ve only been in the ICU for a few months just trying to push through to get my 2-3 years experience . Thank you for your advice . I’m going to check bio freeze out .
  7. Wow congratulations, thank you , now I have an idea of what I need to do eventually to apply and get in. I plan on applying once I reach the 2 year mark since I’m still brand new. Good luck in the program ?.
  8. Do you mind sharing your stats
  9. Yes Dr. Greco , he ran Columbia’s program and will now run Hofstra’s program . He is a really cool guy , and I believe the program will be great . I really hope you guys come back and talk about your experience in the program as well as whether the interview is critical questions based or Personality based .
  10. Applications are open now . Go on their website . They are asking for a minimum of 2 years experience . Application looks pretty straight forward . it’s a combined NP and CRNA DNP program . This should be very interesting . Good luck to everyone applying . I have a while before I can apply but it will be nice to hear what the process of like from others .
  11. I’ve been in the cticu for a few months and I just can’t get myself to read the essentials of cardiac surgery book. For me it’s more seeing the surgeries and watching videos . I’m more of watch it , have it explained and then do it over and over until it sticks . You sound like your very book smart and we’re easily able to pass these exams . Thank you for taking the time to respond to me ?.
  12. So for the CMC , you recommend using Nicole Kupchik’s book and for the CSC her book as well . Are those two resources enough to pass .
  13. It’s taking so long to heal from covid . I got it back in April . I was trying clinical body somatic but it did nothing for me . I’ve been in PT for years and what worked is the myofscial release but I get tight quickly . I can sleep 8 hours and still be exhausted . I’m trying to cut out carbs but the stress draws me to them . They are my guilty pleasure . I try drinking coffee but it gives me a poop attack and then I end up becoming more tired than before . I’m trying to find a good doctor but it’s hard . There is a lack of holistic providers around me . I’m not going to give up because my goal is to feel good . For years I’ve been depressed because of this and now more so because I’m fatigued , but I know I can’t give up . I know I have so much to offer as a nurse, my body is just holding me back . Sorry for the rant . It’s hard to talk about these things with friends and family . They just say I’m young and that I’ll be OK , or that I’m too young to have these issues .
  14. Your completely right and no it’s exactly what I needed to hear because it helps me to know others have experienced similar things to me . I was in the OR but transferred to ICU . OR was easier for me because I worked an evening shift . I want to go to CRNA school. Most days I just sleep on my days off . I’m so tired and my eyes feel so heavy . I take vitamins and see many doctors but they can’t give me an answer . The fatigue and joint injuries all really started when I was 21, but I never gave up. I just want to live a normal life . It’s like my 20’s have passed me by and I’ve done nothing because the pain and fatigue has held me back . It affects my memory and how I learn . If I go out to drink Out late , and have Even 1 drink , I’m literally sleeping the whole day . It’s not normal but I won’t give up .
  15. Wow thank you so much for responding . It’s hard to find people going through the same things . Your inspiring ! How can I find the break room ?
