BLM protesters speak up against rioters and looters quite literally all the time. However, you need to understand that BLM isn't an organization. There are BLM protesters who are entirely against rioting because they know it means whites will use it to discredit them, and there are BLM protesters who are angry about the situation in the US [their mistreatment judicially and socially, redlining, our corporatism, etc]. I haven't seen any of them, on BLM Twitter, instagram, snap, tumblr, IRL, anywhere, supportive of looting or burning mom and pop businesses. Again, they want such businesses to succeed. BLM supporters and protesters very much trend anti-corporation, pro-mom and pop. If you see people burning down and looting mom and pop shops, it's usually white instigators trying to discredit the movement or just get more items & money. Your second statement is semi-fair, if you're not yet in the medical field or working in a very suburban and white area where you wouldn't typically see such patients [redlining and classism]. Typically when it's not poc pts who aren't receiving, it's by far most often classism playing in. That, or medical professionals who disapprove of people's life choices. Either several or a few years back there was a semi-viral reddit thread full of physicians debating it [their pts life choices and how they thus respond differently, typically in terms of women's personal choices w/ labor. One of the quotes that I'll never forget was something like "if they ask for that I always make sure to do [x]" (that specifically in terms of pregnant women) and it was so messed up].

No. You should always speculate on what would have been appropriate, otherwise the same mistakes might continue in the future. In this case, it was administration's negligence.

Um, no no no. Dem politicians have nothing to do with this, even if they're just as full of it as Republican politicians are. This is one, incredibly messed up woman. This is on her. Even if she's an RN, what she's done in no way reflects on you as a nurse or anyone's politics. She's messed up.

Another 4 years under his leadership could leave this country dead, and he'll still have his off-shore money. How are you, as an FNP, as a healthcare Professional, supporting how he's dealing with COVID? Also, how do you know if any of us are from the US?

Not personal property, not personal homes, and not small businesses. Did you even actually read my posts? Specifically, big corporations which are overpricing necessities. Please read critically.

Anyone who isn't neurotypical is neurodivergent. ODD, ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, schizo, all of those and so much more qualify people as neurodivergent. If you want to try influencing your facility towards better care for both employees and neurodivergent patients and neurodivergent employees, I highly recommend doing a bit of even just basic research (try Youtube-searching "neurodiversity," even, as a starting point). Neurodivergency and disability go hand-in-hand, so definitely check out the affects of both on people, as well as legal rights in association (definitely start out with the basics of learning about neurodivergency and disability first, though, so you know what you're learning about). Even if your union hasn't accomplished much yet, coming in informed can gain you a lot in terms of making progress with their help. They're definitely the first people you should talk to if your facility isn't listening.

Yeah, but who exactly do you think is looting the mom and pop stores? I can say right now, that it's not the people who are trying to ensure that small business can succeed now and in the future (read: BLM and other social justice activist "groups"). This election has no hope of getting the "right people" in, but we can try to avoid an corporate, fascist dictatorship. If you're selling your medicine, you need the money. If you're selling it for drugs, you probably need those drugs to get through your current situation].

These aren't perceived social injustices, these are blatant human rights abuses. Injuring innocent people definitely isn't the answer. The other items mentioned do not defeat the purpose. The current acceptable "proper ways for change" is asking nicely, or ignorably, and being ignored. Protesting will never be societally acceptable, in any of its forms, as it's fundamentally a display of disagreeance. When you look at the media, don't just watch it, ask yourself why that's what it's showing. We all need to think critically about these issues, because in the US, they're not going away until they're resolved, and that won't likely happen for a very long time. [All social justice in this country has taken decades, centuries to get to where we are now].

I wouldn't try sending him to jail, especially if you have no experience (personal, meaning yourself, not family members, not friends' kids, not your kids, yourself only) with neurodivergency. However, you need to start something to get your facility onboard with better means of handling neurodivergent patients and caring for their own employees. Hell, learn how to start a union (and keep it quiet in the beginning stages) and start one focused on just that.

Yeah, to all of that except the police. The unfortunate thing is that there really is no satisfying both sides, when the issue is human rights. Obviously that kid's going to need to face justice [however, preferably not the skewed justice that a white kid vs a kid of any other race would]. In the big scheme, it's either we support [all] of our people as a society or all of this is going to get worse, for all of us. The abuse of human rights, the necessity of protests, all of it.

It's not BLM that are turning it into a reason to riot, loot, and destroy, and that's important to remember. It's also not okay to harass. So is it too that not showing support is, in terms of marginalized groups, advocacy against them (or, to put simpler, Group A is bigger. Group B is smaller. Someone who does not gesture in favor of either group is automatically assumed to support Group A, and society at large will count them amongst Group A). There's a reason they're not tolerant of people who disagree with them, and it's because those people are disagreeing with their fundamental human rights, whether actively or by impartiality. The US has a lot of problems right now. No offense, but it's time for them to be addressed. It's been time for them to be addressed for a very long time. All protest currently looks like rioting to our government, any display, no matter how peaceful, of disagreeance with the status quo. And frankly, nothing changes in this country without genuine rioting. Our economy, for the working class and below, is absolutely terrible. Looting of big corporations, at this time, isn't the most immoral thing one could do. Your $'s being stolen by corporations and CEOs. Let the people eat. Look at the corruption and bias of the healthcare field, given how expensive even insulin is versus the cost of production, given how ideas of black women not feeling as much pain are still taught, of black people having "thicker skin."

Huh. Well, check out a history book, because the US government started with extermination (lynchings, hangings, "gay panic" -> oh look, police panicking because a black person reached into their pocket or is hard of hearing). Or, look at how the police were treating peaceful protesters. I'm not saying that it's okay to threaten anyone with violence for not actively showing support. However, you really need to check yourself on it being BLM that's responsible for this climate.

Hello! Current CS Bachelor student looking to get ABSN, then MSN in Informatics. There are lots of good sites that you could start on. A few that I highly recommend would be: > freeCodeCamp (should teach you basics of coding, has multiple languages, you can get certificates for your learning) > Codingbat (great for learning problem-solving especially (this is incredibly important), with very small projects to get you thinking, also don't be afraid to Google how to complete different Codingbat problems as that is a good way to learn) > w3chools (wonderful explanations on things, really the web version of a course. great to pair with Youtube and the above) All of those are free and great starting points. freeCodeCamp is the only one of them that does give certificates, however, I would highly recommend pairing it with others, as well as gaining a grasp on just what you'll most likely need to learn in the field, beyond coding. I'd actually, if I were you, look into some bioinformatics courses, or at least Youtube videos, to learn more about this so that you can further your education on more relevant topics to your career than the basics after you've mastered those. It's most important to start, though, and you don't want to pay a lot of money while just getting started.
