@nw17 I also did an in person interview. The. Within the week I got the email with the offer. Best of luck! I heard med surge is its own beast. A lot higher of a pt ratio (5 or 6) vs ICU. But then again they are way low acuity. Also be mentally prepared to encounter Covid. It’s running ramped at our hospital.

@nw17 Hi! From what I constantly am hearing from everyone is that it SUCKS. As for me and other StaRN’s on my unit (MICU-Covid unit) it’s not too bad “socially”. Our unit is very tight knit. Everyone is very helpful. BUT everywhere else I hear is BAD. There’s tons of drama in SICU... Tele and CVU is a nightmare.. working conditions throughout hospital are poor. We are always short. Don’t get breaks. Don’t get lunch. Nurses feel unsupported. but as a new grad... you don’t really know any different so it’s tolerable... but I do hear a lot of people are quitting/leaving to Kaiser. Also, from my unit, new grads don’t stay past a year. That was emphasized during my interview too which was weird. what unit are you interviewing for?!

I did the PVT 3 hrs later and I got the good pop up... but Im still so anxious! I’ve checked to see if I can purchase quick results... but still not available?. Do you think the PVT is accurate??

Im literally on pins and needles! Was it close to the 48hr mark? I took my test at 3:30pm Thursday. I’m hoping they’ll be available tomorrow AM. I can’t wait any longer ?.

How long did it take to find out if you passed?! I took my NCLEX yesterday (Thurs) and I am dying!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to update: I took my NCLEX today. I literally had and anxiety attack before walking into the building. While taking the test I literally felt like I was “guessing” on a lot. I feel like I got a lot of SATA questions. No OB, peds, L&D, No med math, only 1 picture question and it was for a condition that I didn’t know of... or even therapeutic response like questions. I had a few med questions (didn’t know the med for many and it was click multiple choices, not just one answer). I got some diseases which I’ve never heard of.... a few delegation to UAP and a lot of who you would assess first! The computer shut off at 60 and immediately tears came to my eyes!! I was so afraid to do the Pearson vue “trick”.... finally after 4 hrs... I had my husband do it. I got the GOOD pop up! praying that I passed as my potential new grad program for ICU position starts on Monday!

@CNLES from what the rep told me. The paper that you take to go get fingerprinted & they give you 3 copy’s of Should have been faxed over. That is what I uploaded. I went to DOJ Website to check status of fingerprints & it shows “completed”. Praying they finalize my app sooner than 7 days! I start by new grad program for hospital ICU on 9/14. I need to test!

hi everyone. Just an update: Everyone in my cohort except for myself and another classmate was approved as of yesterday and waiting on that ATT email. I looked up mine and was noted to have a deficiency!! I freaked! It stated "Copy of livescan form required". I called and spoke to BRN rep. and come to find out, the form was never "faxed" over to them by the livescan place I went to. So basically, that delayed my approval even though they are able to see my fingerprints completed via DOJ/FBI. They are not uploaded. So I quickly uploaded the copy and he escalated my app to be reviewed since my prints have been completed since 6/18! he said its a 5-7 day delay in response time.... Hoping it's sooner and this issue is resolved with my upload. Fingers crossed. super bummed...

@CNLES Hi! found your thread. So my livescan was completed 6/18 but copy was never sent to BRN. I checked with BRN as I had a deficiency "copy of livescan form needed". The BRN customer service rep had me upload the form and escalated my case. He said 5-7 business days to review..... Wondering, does it really take that long for them to get back to you, once a deficiency is found? Thanks in advance!

@Michellestudentnurse Hi! Thanks for your feedback! I emailed assembly member 2 weeks ago. Never got a response. I live in So Cal... but I might just consider making the drive if it makes the difference. Who did you ask to speak to? What location/office did you go to? Any insight on what I should say? Anything helps & appreciate your response!

Hi! I I also applied. I had an in person interview last week 8/19 with ICU management & got the offer on 8/21 via email. I accepted & am supposed to start 9/14. Just a bit nervous because I’m not licensed yet! Hoping to get my ATT soon from the board!

@AJRN I hope so! I just checked processing time and as of 8/24 it is STILL showing that they’re reviewing May 1-15 apps. It’s been like 6 weeks with absolutely no change....

@Maha123 Hi! I was an LVN for 9 years. Most recent experience was 5 years with a medical group as a nurse case manager. No acute experience whatsoever. But I did come recommended by 2 of the ICU nurses on the unit. I believe that helped a lot.

@AJRN I got the offer today! Start 9/14. Im praying I get my ATT soon from BRN. I submitted my app 6/18 & still no word.... Im so happy though!

@KDK_RN Hi! CONGRATS on getting an interview! Yes! My interview was yesterday. I feel like it went really well! No real tough questions... Alot of personality type questions. Tell me about yourself, tell me about a time when you helped a pt etc. Why do you want to work in ICU. Why do you want to work for this hospital....It was for ICU. Fingers crossed I hear some good news! As of right now, the HR lady said it was only going to be 1 interview. It was a panel of 3 (Unit manager, Day shift charge and Night shift charge). Let me know how yours goes!

@SiliconValleyNurse Hi! So I sent an email to my assembly member explaining my situation. I interviewed for an RN New Grad program today & feel like it went very well. I might get the job offer which would be tremendous for my family. Fingers crossed my assembly member helps my cause. Best of luck with your NCLEX!
