  1. Im going thru the same situation. I went to the BON today and it did not give me much hope as they are rude and very unhelpful. I uploaded all my info back in December, passed my NCLEX 01/31 and see my crime acknowledgment is still in review. This is beyond frustrating especially for something that happened over 10 years ago.
  2. I spent the day at the NJ BON and it was useless. They told me the legal review team is so backed up that they don't estimate times anymore. The girl sitting next to me was there and she said she has been waiting 8 months. I consulted some lawyers but they want a $2500-$3500 retainer just to send a letter and said that there is no ability to guarantee that it will work. I am about to loose a job that I have uprooted my family to take and its so disheartening.
  3. Do you mind sharing what part was left unchecked?' I somehow answered the plead the fifth question wrong and had to submit a letter stating that I answered it incorrectly, now im waiting for it to be reviewed. I have called multiple times and they said they cant expedite it any faster because it has to go to the review board and they would put in a request for review but only a processor could handle it. So im just wondering what was your hold up to see if it would actually be worth making the drive up there.
  4. OMG these times are scarring me... I somehow marked the "plead the fifth" question wrong and am currently awaiting for them to approve my explination letter. I submitted all paperwork on 01/03 and passes my NCLEX on 01/31.... I've heard that a year is not uncommon at all.
  5. Oh really?!? When and where??? Please inform
  6. For people looking back at this I ended up getting my stipend and orc on 10/25. The stipend was for four months ($5000) and then the ORC ($2205 after taxes) both in two separate deposits the same day.
  7. IDK but my analyst reached out the first time on sept. 25 and has sent a few correspondence since then, and if I ask a question in the “ask a question” she responds promptly. That stinks that not everyone is having the same experience.
  8. Your analyst is not the person who answers the phone, they are the specific person assigned to handle you and your case during this time. My personal page has my analysts contact information listed, and she has also sent me a few different emails (one of them being about the webinar). My analyst is also the one who sent me the email last week stating that she has received all required paperwork from my school and the only thing she needed was for me to submit my unofficial transcript to prove that I am still in fact enrolled in the program because we did apply in March-may and people’s situations have changed, maybe they failed a class, or any number of other reasons. I say submit the unofficial transcript now worst case it wasn’t needed beat case it was and you’re on top of it early which will process your payment faster. As we have all ready the latest date for payment is November 15 but there have been people who have received their payments already so not everyone will be waiting till the last minute. Obviously do what’s best for you though. The very latest you will get the payment in November 15, like I said before my analyst told me Friday that she has everything now and it will take 7-10 days to process the payment
  9. Every session you will be responsible to upload a transcript or course verification. Since I’m claiming Summer classes I had to submit my grades for those classes via unofficial transcript thru the portal, it’s how we confirm we are actually enrolled. I would submit my schedule/unofficial transcript anyway so your payment doesn’t get held up. My analyst said that they reach out to request them after they have received your invoices. From here on out it is your responsibility to submit an unofficial transcript at the end/start of every semester.
  10. I saw a few ppl on the facebook page say they got theirs this week, my rep said Friday when I submitted my confirmation transcript that it would be 7-10 business days. A previous years page said they started getting money the 20th with most people receiving it before November 1st.
  11. You will get a one time payment with your initial lump sum that is separate from tuition and the stipend. That’s meant to cover things like scrubs, books, and anything other school related out of pocket expense that you may incur including health insurance if you get it thru the school.
  12. Yes since we are required to find our ow. Employment then we would be forced to move for those 2 years or default on the contract and be required to pay back everything plus interest.
  13. Someone in my class our second session said “I’m a nurse why are you teaching me to change bed pans, nurses don’t do that” , and the teacher had to turn off her zoom screen because she laughed so hard ? some ppl just don’t realiE what it entails but do know that there are millions of different positions it doesn’t necessarily have to be bedside nursing.
  14. My school seal is clearly visible on the scanned copy they submitted. In your portal it tells you the 3 forms to submit if you need further info it’s in the original application packet. Fill out the w4 and the other forms get filled out thru your school. Currently you are only filling out for this past Summer and current fall. They will send you another form for Spring and Summer later down the road.
  15. I don’t know if any nursing programs in the NJ/NYC area that accept transfer nursing credits. You can transfer gen ED questions in but that’s about it
  16. OK as long as you have this semester already and you are aware the money will not be distributed to late October early November then you’re fine! That’s the person “reviewing” their information.
  17. If you are giving the scholarship they will back pay you from classes that started after July I’ve been told. Previous post said May though so I’m hopefully too. I already have a year of loans to pay back but every little bit helps
  18. Do you have a back up plan? Even if selected the funds are not distributed till end of October. I do not think everyone realizes that this money is not instant. If you took out loans for Summer or fall to pay then they will reimburse you so I have loans for this semester and will just pat them off with my first check.
  19. I got my finalist notification 9/1
  20. Ahhhh I am beyond excited! Just got my finalist letter at 9pm EST! I am beyond excited and just so so grateful!
  21. It’s not about the geographical area it’s about the individual hospitals scoring level, just because they are in an underprivileged area does not make them an underprivileged facility. It must be an approved HSRA facility
  22. Yep same here!
  23. Yea there’s always been a chunk of people with O Efc who haven’t gotten it.. last it it was something like almost 3000 applied but only 257 got it
  24. Oh I didn’t say it wasn’t a disaster. It’s horrible, basically like a computer game that wasn’t programmed well. Between clinical sites limiting the number of students they’ll accept to teachers not getting vax it’s been rough and I don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel yet. Hopefully come November
  25. 1) I never said they didn’t believe in vaccinations 2) not that an explination on their personal story is needed but they each came down with COVID working on a COVID floor at the beginning and switched to virtual teachers because they loved what they did but have lingering complications and cannot risk getting sick again 3)theory teachers are teaching large classes and stretched to the limit as it is due to the rise in students during the pandemic 4) since everything else you said is based on the “not believing in the good of vaccinations” I’ll just leave it all alone and say refer to point #1 5) being vax does not guarantee you will not get COVID and fall sick again … it’s happening
