University of Alberta After Degree Nursing 2020
So, at Athabasca I'm taking: A&P, Medical Microbiology, Psychology, English & Statistics. At TRU: (Possibly) Patho. I'm starting on Monday so really hoping I can complete them all for the exams in early May and then submit sometime in June. I'm an international student as well so trying to get used to all the different terminology and process. Looks like we'll both be applying for the sept 2021 intake? I was there is no interview process so I'm guessing it's all just based on grades and work experience?

Not sure of this helps but this is the reply from Athabasca that I received about getting my final exam grades and transcripts to UoA by the June 15th deadline: In order to have transcript processed and received by the University of Alberta by 15-JUN-2020, you are going to want to be able to request them no later than 01-JUN-2020. AU would need at least 3-4 weeks to process final grades from when the student has completed all the course work, including exams. So you most likely would want to write your exams no later than the beginning of May. You will need to allow at least 20 processing days for the exams, although they are usually processed and set up in a shorter amount of time. At the moment only online exams are being processed and we recommend students to use ProctorU as they are a virtual invigilator who can watch students take exams all around the world. You just need to make sure you have decent internet speed, a webcam and microphone.

Langara Fall 2021 intake
Just jumping in here - I didn’t think Langara nor BCIT accepted international students? @Uwugreenghost?

Experiences taking Biol 1593 & 1693 at TRU?
This is really helpful. I have a question as a British International student hoping to come over to Nursing School next year. I'm looking into getting registered somewhere to start my pre-reqs from October. I'm weighing up TRU and Athabasca (for some reason everyone says this A&P course is super tough). Are they essentially the same course with the same way of working? It's just self study right?

It's me again. Even more confused than before I think ? I'm weighing up my pre-req options for UoA. Would you have any advice about which courses to start first at Athabasca, or which are the "easier" courses you mentioned above. Athabasca University English: ENGL 211, ENGL 212, or ENGL 255 Statistics: MATH 215 or MATH 216 Psychology: PSYC 228, PSYC 289, or PSYC 290 Human Physiology: BIOL 230 Human Anatomy and Human Physiology (6 credits): BIOL 235 Medical Microbiology: BIOL 325 I think I may ease into it while I research a better A&P class than Athabasca. I should have mentioned I have quit my job and will be studying full time so hoping this will be in my favour ? thanks so much, any advice would be great. x

University of Alberta After Degree Nursing 2020
Hi Temade Thanks for your reply! I'll be studying full time so fingers crossed I can power through. I will have a look at McEwan more closely if they offer tutored learning. This is a good tip. It's a minefield that's for sure. Wish me luck ?

University of Alberta After Degree Nursing 2020
Hi all! Just jumping in here. I'm currently UK based and will be hoping to be accepted as an international student onto the 2021 Nursing After Degree BSN at UoA. If I start all the pre reqs in October do you think thats enough time to get them finished? Due to covid I have decided to stay put and do them online through either Athabasca, Macewan and Thompson Rivers. Does anyone have a preference of the best one to go for? I was a little confused about courses being taken in the Winter not being accepted? Thanks so much in advance! Big love from London

Langara January 2021 intake
Thankyou Hewooo! Due to the visa situation and Langara not accepting international students I am now considering University Of Alberta. I will begin my pre reqs with Athabasca or Macewan in October :-) Good Luck to everyone!

Langara January 2021 intake
That's interesting. So if you already have a degree it's automatic acceptance to the Nursing BSN presuming you have all the pre reqs?

Langara January 2021 intake
Thanks so much! It looks like a good course. I'm 35 so a bit scary to go back to school but exciting xx

@Hewooo can I ask how you found the pre reqs at Langara? Was it the Foundations for Health Sciences course? I'm British and researching doing that course next year. Also do people get an interview for the nursing BSN or is it all just based on grades? Thanks so much and good luck everyone!

Langara January 2021 intake
Hey all This maybe slightly off topic but I can't find much information elsewhere about this so thought I'd ask in this group. I'm a potential international student applicant for the Nursing programme. I was just wondering if there are any other international students floating around who could give some insight into the process. Would be great if you're already on the programme. I'm aware I'd need to complete the pre reqs to be considered. Little about me, I'm British, 35, and currently working in advertising and have done so for the last 10 years. I have a degree plus 2 diplomas in arts subjects. thanks so much!
