PeaceHealth RN Residency in Eugene/Springfield Oregon 2020
Talked to a recruiter earlier last week and he said they completed recruiting for “most of the medical units” and for the NICU so if you haven’t heard than “you didn’t get the offer”. He was pretty direct about it. ? He said that they are working through almost 80 offers so it’s just going to take awhile. I heard back from Vancouver and was offered ICU there which I was super surprised at. They pushed the start date back to the end of August but I don’t think that applies to Riverbend!

Something interesting I just noticed.. When I log onto the old job site and check my application status it says "Process Complete" for Riverbend. The date on it is 6/29. I wonder if that has any implication for whether or not I'll get an offer. For SW, it still says "Under Review".

Good luck to you too! OHSU is opening up their residencies slowly I think the MBU is the only one up as of right now. AH Tillamook also has a residency posted if you’re interested in that! Crossing fingers for all of us!

Hey! @eeveern ; interviewed for Riverbend too and haven’t heard anything. The coordinator told me that if I haven’t heard anything by Wednesday, I can call and they’ll let me know if I have offers but they may not yet be able to tell me which dept it’s with. Hoping to get a call before then! Have left my phone on loud all day LOL

What's the RIGHT answer to this clinical scenario?
@RNNPICU when I researched it last night I finally decided that I should have said potential Afib and/or heart failure..? If it’s HF, Heart is obviously pumping poorly, which leads to a drop in ox, system is responding with a high HR to try to get better blood/ox flow. If it’s Afib, you have an erratic heart rate which leads to inefficient blood flow, low ox, low BP. Depending on which one it is, you may get different heart drug prescriptions and have to do different focused assessments; edema, Wright gain, chest pain, WOB etc. I assumed there was a very clear answer and I completely missed it.

What's the RIGHT answer to this clinical scenario?
Hey all - I had an interview the other day and they gave me the following clinical details: 74 yr old diabetic male, O2 84% on 2L of oxygen, HR 144, BP 80/58 - What would your assessment be? What orders would you expect from the doctor? I'm a new grad and I was totally caught off guard by the clinical question aspect of the interview and rambled off some details about heart failure, focused assessments and about anticipating an increase in oxygen prescription. Was I anywhere near correct? What's your clinical opinion? Thank you!

@Nicole. @nurseynurse21 Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I heard from the SW campus in Vancouver (I applied to Eugene/Spring., Vancouver and Longview). They sent out a generic email a few minutes ago saying the hiring timeline has been effected due to COVID and the amount of applications. Nothing more specific than that. I haven't heard anything from the other locations yet. I put the Vancouver campus as my first choice considering I live in Portland but honestly I would relocate happily if needed. Did either of you apply to multiple locations? I'm wondering if they put you in the pile for only one opportunity or if you can interview with multiple campuses..

Hi @nurseynurse21! Yes, did apply. Haven’t heard back but they said they’d get back to us first week of June so I’m hoping to hear by Friday. Then interviews mid June. Just wondering - how are you able to access your application? Ever since they changed the platform, I can’t review my old application status. Thanks!
