Me too. I am applying for Spring 2021. Everything seems to be okay except I cannot really find much reviews about this university on internet. I would love to hear from someone who has attended or is attending this university about their experiences. Please let me know if you do. Also, I noticed that most of the threads here are about the PMHNP program and not the FNP program. Do you know if the FNP program is fairly new there? I feel like making decision would be easier after hearing from someone in the same program.

Hey, just wanted to check how has the program been for you so far. I am thinking of applying there for the MSN FNP program Spring 2021. I was glad to know that they help with finding clinical placements. It seems like this online program is not available in all the states, but once you are graduated you can practice in any of the US states right? It is available in the state I am currently living but just want to know for future in case I move out of here.

Yes I am wondering the same. Have you already applied? Also, as per their website, it seems like their nursing programs are not authorized in all states. Unless someone is planning to only practice in the authorized states, I don't know how is that going to workout. I am just not being able to decide right now.

@Lisa Brooks Hello, Your article was very informative. I apologize if my question sounds very stupid, but are you able to share anything about the average earnings of informatics nurses? I mean is it anywhere comparable to the Nurse Practitioner earnings for the same state or is it way too low? Right now, I am debating whether to go for MSN in NP or Informatics. I know both degrees are completely different from each other and I am more inclined towards informatics. However, I am not in the financial position where I can just follow my interest without considering what will I get in return in the future. I hope you understand. Thank you in advance.

Hey @Toadette, Although it is late, Congratulations for your job.I hope it is going well. Do you mind sharing where did you complete the MSN NI program from? I am also very interested in this field but unlike you, I do not have any other experience beside being a bedside RN for almost five years.I have a BSN degree. Do you think it is a good idea for me to get in NI without any computer/IT background? I have been trying to research more about this degree but it would be great to hear from someone like you who have actually pursued it. Thank you.

Hey @EternalFeather, Just curious what did you end up doing? I am also looking to get my MSN in Nurse Informatics and I am very interested in this field. I have been working as a bedside nurse and just like you I do not have any prior IT/Computer experience. The negative stuff that you mentioned has been really bothering me and I am not sure anymore about this degree. I would really love to know about your experience and to hear from someone with similar experience. Thank you.

I am also interested in pursuing MSN in Nurse Informatics but I am having a very hard time knowing where to start and get more information about the degree and what to expect from it. Please feel free to share if you were able to get any insights. Thank you

Hey @micheRN323, Did you happen to make any decision on your MSN degree on informatics? I am exactly on the same boat as you. I have four years experience of bedside nursing and one thing I am sure of is I do not want to do bedside anymore. Nurse Informatics has been my area of interest but it is so hard to get more information on it and beside I do not know anyone who has this degree and can provide some insights. The information on the internet is just so vague. Please let me know.
