when I applied twice is was during the time that they waived the HESI exam so they were flooded with applicants. All the people who already had a degree and was trying to get into nursing applied so I never stood a chance. No I didn't start the nursing classes right away I needed to complete a math class (They didn't take my math from HFCC), Chemistry and microbilogy. I'm currently in Maternal Child classes and clinical.

I was hurt too, I took all my classes there and was on the dean's list. I didn't have any medical experience but I really had high hopes that I was going to be accepted and I wasn't. With all the prereqs that you have now, you can apply to Chamberlain and if your'e missing any it just gets included in classes to be completed. You will need to take the HESI as well, not sure of the GPA that is currently needed but when I applied I was over 3.5 with all my prereqs. They provide a lot of resources but their communication sucks at times trying to get in contact with someone. Its also accelerated so the classes are 8 weeks long and you get alot of information thrown at you but overall I really like it.

I applied twice and got denied twice, so I went on to Chamberlain and get accepted and now I have less than a year to graduate with a bachelors and I really don't regret it at all. They are pricey but I'm happy to be done soon.

In a few weeks I’m going to be coming up on my 1 year mark at Chamberlain. I was never a LVN/LPN so I can’t answer that question. Chamberlain’s atmosphere is a little different from my previous college (community college). I have 3 negatives and that is the price (I don’t complain about that anymore because I knew what I was getting into), my campus is very small so we don’t have a on-site library but my biggest complaint would be the communication, they lack so bad in that area, sometimes so hard to get in touch with someone, even worst now because of Covid and a lot of things are being done remotely. The pros, I love the fast pace! Even though we learn so much in such a short time, they do provide a lot of resources to help. I had a few more general classes to complete while still doing my nursing classes and so my graduation date is April 2023.

I does have it's challenges, and it's costly but so far I do love the fact that classes are 8 weeks long. I will graduate with a bachelors over a associates in the same time span.

I applied for Fall 2020 got denied, applied for Winter 2021 got denied again. Because they waived the HESI exam those two semesters, I heard that were flooded with applications. I got accepted into Chamberlain last fall and that's where I've been since.

Yea I wish I had taken a CNA course before. I’m already accepted and enrolled in Chamberlain I just really had my hopes on HFCC because it was the cheaper route. I’ll be done with my bachelors in 2 years.

Congrats to you! I wasn’t aware of that list either. Yup changing up things with the HESI made a huge difference.

It’s $699 per credit. Once most of the non nursing classes are completed the price drops big time.

Absolutely ridiculous!

I got into Chamberlain and so far it’s pretty good but it’s crazy expensive. I did the reapply for HFCC so I hope they accept me but if they don’t at least I’m already in a nursing program. Well I just got the denial email AGAIN!! Thank god I’m already at Chamberlain. I’m a little disappointed though.

I agree, I’m 36 I just don’t have the time to be be doing a bunch of prerequisites and still not get accepted into a program.

I agree, waiving the HESI exam screwed us over big time plus it’s waived again for Winter 2021. Yes it’s EXPENSIVE!! They are very straight forward with their prices, no hidden or surprise fees pop up. I transferred in with credits as well, not as many as you have though. I love the fact that you can still complete whichever GedEd classes along with your nursing classes at the same time and I also like the fact that classes are accelerated. When you get the call, they will go over the cost with you. So far my professors seem nice and they provide tons of resources to help where needed. If you have any questions let me know and with your GPA and positive you will get accepted at Chamberlain. My GPA was either 3.3 or 3.4.

I didn’t get a chance to take the HESI nor did I have any medical experience but I was highly positive I would have gotten it but it sure didn’t happen LOL. I can’t believe with all of that and they still didn’t accept you! I start Chamberlain at the end of August and so far I really like it, I’ll be done in 2 years. I did go ahead and reapplied at HFCC but I highly doubt they will accept me so I’m happy where I’m at. I kinda wished I had paid more attention to WCCCD but I didn’t. I got a call maybe a week or two before I got the letter. I just had orientation today. So much to get done!
