  1. So weird that I asked this question today because I just got an unsolicited email from the student services coordinator answering this question at like 6:45pm! Thank you, your instructions worked too.
  2. I feel ridiculous for asking this, but does anyone know how to check Duke email/get into their email?
  3. I wish they would have sent a message to our personal emails with that info. When I reached out to ask why I hadn’t gotten any info, they told me to check my Duke email but didn’t offer any info on how to do that. Maybe the site was listed in something else we received, and I must’ve missed it. A great resource! Thank you!
  4. I haven’t heard anything either.
  5. When did you hear from them? I’ve been checking my email frequently and haven’t seen any updates.
  6. Anyone hear from Duke Financial Aid/scholarships yet?
  7. Anyone know how many students will be in our group? There were 380 applicants but how many of us made it?
  8. Weird that people would want to join who aren’t students/incoming students. My facebook profile doesn’t say anything about my schooling but if there are questions at the beginning, I can mention something about allnurses. I’ll be asking to join in April! Thanks for creating the group! ?
  9. Has anyone made a facebook group for admitted students yet? I gave up social media for Lent, but would like to join in April! Congratulations to everyone, we’re all going to end up exactly where we need to be ❤️
  10. After all the long drawn out waiting, I was not accepted. However, I did get into my top choice! So it is well with my soul. Best of luck to all of you! We are all going to end up exactly where we’re meant to be!❤️
  11. Thank you so much for this wisdom. Well said and well received by this prospective student. I absolutely agree that many healthcare facilities are not perfectly run and it’s so important to be able to just roll with annoying things like disorganization (especially now with Covid and all of its associated curveballs). It’s a major pet peeve of mine and I expected less of that from a school with as much prestige as Columbia. However, I’m up for the challenge of working with the admin issues if it means earning the depth and breadth of knowledge you described in one of the most iconic places in the world! Thanks again, this is just the kind of encouraging post I needed to see after so much negativity. Especially hearing a positive outcome from someone who had waitlist experience.
  12. Thank you for this information. Makes me wonder how good the quality of education actually is if the administration is so disorganized and poorly run. Disorganization is a huge pet peeve of mine and I would think that a school as highly renowned and expensive would be able to operate better. Covid or not. This is supposed to be one of the best schools in the world and I expect far more. Hopefully the actual nursing education makes up for this frustrating process (and this is not just my impatience speaking).
  13. I’m waiting on Columbia too!? I just keep checking and checking! LOL
  14. Thank you! I figured. Just wondering if there was any chance at all. It’s so nerve wrecking!
  15. Anyone receive an update/acceptance yet?
  16. Great advice! Thank you!
  17. Application for an accelerated nursing program. Thank you for asking! I should have clarified.
  18. How do I best explain my previous academic probation on my application? I was placed on academic probation in undergrad the semester after I returned from a medical leave of absence. I had an eating disorder that nearly consumed my life and I was struggling to manage my job, intensive outpatient therapy several days a week and 5 rigorous classes (feelings of isolation, depression, etc as it was basically my second attempt at my freshman year). I don’t want to make it sound like I was just not fully prepared to return from my medical leave to begin with, but essentially that is what happened. I got off probation the following semester, and I graduated, but my overall GPA really suffered from that semester.
