Need Advice, No Longer Able To Be A Nurse
I just got a message from my teacher saying the dean of nursing approved my returning in March. I AM BACK IN NURSING! yes, I am shouting victory. I am so happy that I get to return to my old school. The teachers at my currently school are nice and caring and glad I am returning to the same school. Thanks everyone for you good advice.

Need Advice, No Longer Able To Be A Nurse
Mrs. Shr, hope all is going well for you. I have a question about LPN program that may be a question for the person over the program. I dropped out of nursing school in May 2020 and when I dropped classes, I was passing everything if I remember correctly. Will I be allowed to re-enter nursing school in a year? I had to stop nursing for a bit to fix a few life situations before I returned to nursing. I'd love another attempt at accomplishing my LPN diploma at your school. She sent email explaining why I couldn't get into this school's nursing program again. This came from a instructor that may be over the program now since they other one retired. Can a instructor make this decision and whose makes the decisions for the nursing program? I probably should email them again and explain my situation and why I dropped out of LPN classes. The weird part is dropped classes in March 2020 and I got a phone call from an instructor asking if I was returning in fall. I told the instructor no that I am taking CNA classes. The instructor and I talked for a while before saying goodbye. The teachers there are nice and will miss them. Hoping after a year of working, they will reconsider me.

Can I realistically become a Nurse with my disability?
Nursing school is a emotional roller coaster and takes a lot of study time. The nursing courses are nothing like the general classes. I got A's and B's in all my classes and was barely passing nursing school when I dropped out. In the first semester that lasts about 2 months, you go through 6 chapters in fundamentals and 2 chapters in drug calculations every week along with learning lab which are clinical skills. If you have any mental issues, nursing will be incredibly hard for you. My advice is go through a CNA (certified nurse's aide) class first and then decide if you want to become a nurse. Most nursing schools reject people who don't have their CNA certified so getting certified is your first goal. You can work at a nursing home/hospital to see if you really like it. Respiratory Technology and Radiologic technology program last only a year and start off with good pay. you could even do EMT slowly works your way up the ladder to a paramedicine. I also heard great things about Medical Assisting which do some of the same stuff as nurses except they work in a doctors office. I wish you good luck in your future career.

Need Advice, No Longer Able To Be A Nurse
I read everyone's post and appreciate everyone's help. I email the school that I wanted to attend and explained the situation and has not heard anything from them yet. I agree with everyone that honesty is the only way to go forward. Thinking this is it for me is hard to accept. My family is safe now. I have confused feelings about my dad now. Today he helped me put a new fan in my bedroom. It feels like I am approving what he did when I let him do stuff for me. This man would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, and he has erased all the good that he has done by hurting children. I think he regrets it now, 15 years later. However, he won't ever be trusted around our kids and he's never alone with other kids. Again, thank you for your help.

Has anyone ever gotten denied from an LPN/RN program at one school and got accepted into an LPN/RN program at a different school? I really want to become a nurse and hope my chance has not past. In 2020, I I was given three chances to pass at LPN Program at a technical school. They gave me an extra chance to succeed because of COVID19. My final drop was April 2020, the starting of Surg. Tech classes. I emailed the school today asking could I ever re-enter nursing. They said no, since I already dropped classes for the third time. I went through a tough time after finding out a close family member molested my kid and other family member's kids. I did not give them a reason for leaving a third time. Finding out a monster lives in my family was hard and consumed my mind for awhile. You always think it happens to other families, not yours. The person who molested our kids was paying for my schooling at the time I found out about all of this. The situation was complex and confusing.- CNA vs Phlebotomy
I started Phlebotomy and dropped it because they wants us to do 44 stick in 3 weeks. we couldn't do sticks at the hospital because of Covid19. We had to bring family/friends in to sticks for blood to get our 44 sticks. If you have no one coming in to help you get your 44 sticks, you don't pass the class so be careful. Plus, In job search, Most want one to two years of experiences so I'd go for CNA and then maybe Phlebotomy.- CNA -STAT HELP about a simple question, please.
I started a CNA class that started Aug 17 and ended September 24. This teacher gave us wrong facts about many things through out the class and constantly scorned me even when I did things correctly. BTW, She did no other students this way. Even the ones she heard talk badly about her. She shun me when I had a question. I think she shun me because I questioned her information when I thought it was incorrect, but so did others in the class. She attempted to make me feel stupid every time I was in her class. August 24th, last day of class, we did 5 skills with her that we needed a 85 above to pass and if you didn't do everything her way, she counted off points. I got through it, she counted off things that I did and the person over the place passed me. After I told her I've worked as a CNA in the past, she said she worried about me being fast enough to keep up in health field because the work pace moves fast. I took it as an insult because I told her I've worked in the health field. After all that ranting, It's time to ask my question. I want to gather all my items for the skill, then knocked, say my name, and explain skill. She's says it's wrong. The teachers says knock, explain skill, ask if it's OK, then gather the supplies. I get confused when I stop in my skill, gather my supplies, and go back to the skill. I wouldn't think it's right because you left the room to get supplies and would have to reenter the room. What is your opinion? My test is on October 12th. so I really need help. One last thing, I had a 97 average on my written test at the end of the class and the skills part was the only way she could make a impact on my grade.- Hopefully taking CNA classes soon, tips/tricks?
You hit the nail on the head about working as a CNA at a nursing home. The part where you said, "keep quiet about nursing school because CNA's resent uppity people." They believe no one should have ambitions since they don't have it.- A&P1 and 5 week CNA program?
CNA class takes a lot of studying time and so does A&P. After CNA class each day, you will need time to study the chapters and make sure you know clinicals 100% so you will pass the state's written and clinical part of the test. If you go to school from Mon-Friday 8-3, then going to A&P from 5-8pm when do you get time to study? I wouldn't take A&P and CNA together. A&P at a community college is extremely difficult and a lab attached to the class which is learning all the body parts. The ASN program is very competitive so you need to make A's on everything to get into their nursing program. I've gone to both a community college and a technical college and glad I switched to a technical college where it's less stressful. However, you may be a person who is super smart that can easily pass both classes with A's without much stress. Just don't over stress yourself. I finished my CNA class on September 24th. The night classes move slower and last a little longer. My class started on Aug 17th and ended on Sept 24th. We went to class on Mon, Tuesday, Thursday from 6-10pm and a few Saturdays. If you get a nice teacher, she/he will let you leave early. Hope I'm not sending this too late. Good Luck. - Need Advice, No Longer Able To Be A Nurse
