  1. I applied to so many and didn't get in, any one in particular, should I keep trying or should I just look for a job
  2. Really how do you know that, are you a PA
  3. Most PAS are not RNs or paramedics, and am not sure where you get the 2000 hours from that's insane, no one was talking bad about PAs I was just saying at the end of the day we still end up doing the same job regardless of education path, and I don't know what you mean by PAs know their role, you most an MD cause only MDs seem to have an issue with NPs because IDK maybe they lack confidence in their job, they think NPs are going to steal their job, if they were confident they wouldn't think NPs would take their job.
  4. PAs don't have RN/ ICU experience prior to going to PA school and they're still considered competent at their job.
  5. We do close to 900 hours of clinical
  6. OK, thanks I'll do that for sure, I'll remain full time and try to work now and there to get some type of experience and apply for a residency afterwards. Am from the east coast, I know a lot of ppl who went to my program who work inpatient straight out of school, it could be because they have the YALE name on their resume, but who knows. Again thanks for your advice.
  7. Yeah my program Is designed for non RN s with a bachelors degree so you don't need any previous RN experience. Its Yale and they've been around for a while and is one of the top schools. There plenty of other programs like it. They also have a high success rate. Thanks for your advice. Am getting mixes advice I know at yale hospital the new NPs get a 6 month training which they told is like residency but with better pay do you think that could be helpful as well rather than residency if that didn't workout?
  8. What do you mean by reps, so you don't think I should bother going part time/delay graduation. Which program did you apply to and what do you think made you stand out from other applicants and do you think it was worth it? Thanks. And what if I don't work as an RN and dont get into a residency program do you think I'll have difficulties working as a ACNP? Thanks
  9. Hi, Am in my program and have no nursing experience at all. It's an accelerated program for non nurses where you get your RN and NP in 3 years at Yale, am going on my last year and have been thinking going part to work as a nurse in an ICU setting, would you recommend it, or would you recommend doing residency instead. Thanks
  10. Am in ACNP program and I have no nursing experience am thinking about going part time my last to work in ICU, but ither ppl say residency is also as good, but competitive. Is there any NP here who think working in ICU made them a better NP or it didn't make a difference?
  11. How competitive was it to apply and get into these programs? Am a ACNP student with no prior nursing experience, am considering going part to work as an ICU nurse to gain experience or should I apply to one of those residency programs instead? Are there a lot for critical nurses and are they very competitive?
