  1. Hi there! I just accepted a job at NYP/Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns starting in February. It is such a new building and there isn't a single thread on here that mentions it. Was wondering if anyone works there/had worked there/or knows anyone that works there that can give me some insight on what it's like.
  2. https://www.op.nysed.gov/registered-professional-nursing/nursing-status ^^^ is the link for the up-to-date status on applications they are currently reviewing based on date submitted. They definitely take longer than other states . I applied for my license on April 23rd and didn't get my ATT to sit for my NCLEX until September 3rd. ?
  3. Hi there! You probably figured this out by now but just incase someone else runs into the same issue and comes across this thread... I had 2 positions at NYP that got to this stage. When I saw that mine had changed to "assessment/reference," it was after I already had interviewed or had one scheduled. They probably want to move forward with you and bring you in for an interview. I would reach out to a recruiter if you have their contact information. And if not try and find recruiters on LinkedIn and send them a short message (as to the point as possible they usually only read the first sentence or two) Hopefully, you got the job tho and figured this out on your own ?
  4. @mmarlene93 thanks for responding! I didn't end up taking the offer and waited it out and actually interviewed and accepted a position within the specialty I wanted to work in. Very excited and thankful for your insight ?
  5. Hi! I haven’t seen a post about this yet, so I figured I’d start a thread for the 2023 cohort at New York Presbyterian. I accepted a job offer, did all of my onboarding (background check application, online forms, etc.), fingerprints, and scheduled my medical clearance apt for next week but haven’t heard anything in a week or two. My start date is supposed to be Jan 17th and I feel like there is other stuff to be done like ordering scrubs, getting access to email account, etc. Not sure if it is just weird timing with the holidays and New years or if there really is anything else that needs to be done or not. Was wondering if anyone else was running into a similar situation.
  6. I know for NYP you don't directly apply to the residency program you just apply to jobs and all new hires for new grads are in the nurse residency program for the first year of employment. At least, I think that's the case. (I haven't accepted a position yet I just had an interview and this is what I took from that)
  7. Hi everyone! I recently just had an interview at NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center for a medsurg unit. I am a new grad and haven't been able to get a job on a unit I want to specialize in (L&D/posparum/antepartum) because apparently, they don't accept new grads. I was told to start out on medsurg to get experience and then after a year or two apply to the type of unit I'd like. I've accepted it and started applying to medsurg jobs and got an interview almost immediately. The issue is I left the interview feeling extremely anxious because the unit typically has nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:7 or 1:8. I know how hectic medsurg units are and I'm concerned about what it would be like starting off on a unit like this. Does anyone who works in #NewYorkCity know if a 1:8 nurse-to-patient ratio is normal? Any advice or insight would be so appreciated!

I recently just had an interview at NYP for a medsurg floor and am really cautious about taking it. Would love to get an update!
  9. After a lot of back and forth between Drexel and TJU I finally made my decision and accepted my offer of admission to Jefferson's FACT-2 program for this upcoming fall. If anyone knows of any group me or facebook groups for students to talk and get to know each other and go through the next steps together please let me know! See you guys this Fall!
  10. I am struggling with this same issue! Jefferson was my top choice and I got in yet I lean towards Drexel and I too dont know why. I don't know how to choose and I defiantly dont want to make the wrong choice. Maybe we can help each other out. I made a excel doc with pros and cons id love to share and maybe we can help each other out.
  11. I JUST RECEIVED MY OFFER OF ACCEPTANCE FOR FALL 2020! Cant wait to start this journey with ya'll!
  12. I just got mine too! I really need help!! please any advice would be so amazing! I applied 6 days before the deadline. As long as it was submitted with all the requirements to be completed then it will be considered. (I spoke to an advisor at Pace) WE GOT THIS!
  13. I hope your nursing interview went well and you are currently in a program and thriving! I am replying to you post because I am now in the exact same position and I don't know what to expect or how to prepare! My first interview is tomorrow and my second one is Friday! If you could give me any tips or advise I would really appreciate it!
  14. Hi everyone! I applied to NYU Rory Myers College of Nursing- 2nd degree program via the common app for the Fall 2020 semester. I wanted to create a thread for everyone else that is also applying so that we can help each other through this process!! ❤️?
  15. I also only have a checklist! I don't see any status (in review or submitted). Did you submit through the common app or on their direct site?
