  1. I felt the same way. Im from Chicago so I decided i would have to be blown away by the school to move and spend a lot more money on Columbia when i have good options here. I also felt like the presenters didn't talk much about what makes them different other than it's an ivy league, and considering we take the same NCLEX as every other nursing student in the country, that's really not a selling point for me. I was also lucky and met a student ambassador from close to the same hometown as me and she asked me what other programs I was considering and even she advised me to choose a school in Chicago because she has massive amounts of debt from Columbia... and I think students ate more likely to give honest opinions of the school than the Dean's since its kinda their job to convince us to go.
  2. Stupid question but does anyone know if we can set up a tour of the nursing building and sim lab or are we kind of on our own to wander around the campus if we want to see it? I've never been there, but I really wanna see the school before committing...
  3. They say we will hear back within 2 weeks od the interview, I heard back in more like a week and a half
  4. Glad I finally found other people who applied! I got in, but I've never actually seen the school which makes it a bit harder to choose...
  5. I never thought of registering an emotional support animal, I'll look into it!
  6. I'm so torn between applying for university housing or not since it is a cheaper option, but I wouldn't be able to have my pets, and I'm from chicago so I wouldn't be able to visit them much... never thought a cat could cause this much inner turmoil Opinions welcome, I appreciate unbiased outlooks
  7. Thanks for the info. Hoping I'll be able to go to the visiting day since I'm traveling from Chicago
  8. I was accepted into the MDE program, but I am regretting not applying to the MDE/DNP programs. Does anybody know if I would be able to apply to one of the DNP specialty areas while completing the MDE with the intention of staring the DNP right after completing the first portion? Or would I have had to apply to the DNP programs right off the bat?
  9. I did the same and I got into my top choice (elmhurst) and it kinda sucks to be out $300 :/
  10. Update- I was accepted today!
  11. I finished my application in October and on the application page it has said "committee review" for months, but have yet to hear anything.
  12. I just got an invitation to interview today! I've heard the interview is relaxed and more like a conversation as opposed to asking questions similar to the application
  13. It was a very relaxed interview. I talked with Dr. Davis, the program director and she is very nice and good at helping you not feel nervous. I was more worried about the writing sample afterwards and that turned out to not be too bad either. Good luck
  14. Has anyone else applied for or been accepted to the Summer 2020 MENP cohort at DePaul? I got my acceptance a few weeks ago and wanted to see if there was anyone else considering it.
  15. I just interviewed today and am praying to get in since it is my top choice. Congrats on your acceptance!
